  • velocity boy When are we going to see fixies with front brakes and gyroscopes?

    Gyroscopes ?

  • ^THose BMX headset-mounted bar-spinny things that let you have a back brake and 360degree spinniness. Tynan...

  • tomasito oh dear oh dear oh dear

the scary thing is, I am sure it'll sell heaps. how long till charge are more hated than twatsters?

It is a cliché that most clichés are true, but then, like most clichés, that cliché is untrue.

  • We got an email at BLB today marked CONFIDENTIAL claiming it had an attachment that was TOP SECRET..... on opening the attachment it was noted that it was from Charge with ULTRA TOP SECRET images of the new Plug!! Big disappointment.... and now it's all over the forum. Top Secret my arse!!

  • I like that bike. Its like a big 'fuck you' to the increasing snobbery in the fixed-gear world.

  • provenrad ^THose BMX headset-mounted bar-spinny things that let you have a back brake and 360degree spinniness. Tynan...

    Gotch !

    Cheers ! :)

  • The colours match up quite nicely. I still wouldn't be seen dead on it, though, track ends or no track ends. :-)

  • Soweto888 .... track ends or no track ends. :-)

That bike's about as Track as a Tractor!

  • .

  • for God's sake, chill out!

yeah it's a putrid colour combination and ticks every box there is at this moment in time, but who cares? if those rims were white or silver i'd probably think it was ok.

i for one am sick to death of hearing the word 'hipster' and all that shit.

oh yeah and please don't laugh at my chrome bag.

  • I like how everyone has been building bikes that look pretty much like this one for months (I could have counted about 5-6 looking similar to this one on sunday at polo - including mine yes), and now it's disgusting when a brand produces a bike that matches the general taste...

I guess it's good that a frameset allows barspins without having to use a 650 wheel. For those who can barspin (I can't).

    EXACTLY.

Agreed. That's exactly what's gonna happen.
It's when brands begin to influence us that we should be worried.
I shall look forward to the Charge Fixed Shopper ;-)

    THREE Cheers for Yorgo!!

    i totally agree

  • They should offer a custom colour service. The bike's 'alright' but not for everyone with that finish. Don't particularly look forward to seeing tons of them on the road. (Maybe it makes it easier to single them out). The whole point 'surely' is to add some individuality. Deep V's getting cheaper and cheaper...especially in green. Sell 'em quickly! ha ha.

  • Bring on the gamma rays

That colour scheme makes it look like some Incredible Hulk tie in

  • wrong give a fuck about what i think.... if i can remember to think before i open my yap/ keyboard

  • Vinz I like that bike. Its like a big 'fuck you' to the increasing snobbery in the fixed-gear world.

    For that... it is wonderful.

In the middle of trying to attain 'killer angles' and a cool brakeless look a hell of a lot of people forget the utility and comfort which were part of the draw to cycling in the first place. And fashion doesn't strengthen a community, it creates cliques and elitist hierarchies that help pull it apart. The fun of doing stuff and the welcoming of all is what helps, which means looking at this bike and saying to yourself, yeah, it's a pretty good job at an off-the-peg and that we have to admit that most of us have some of those components and would choose them again.

If someone turned up to a ride on one I'm more than likely to be asking them how it handled, how comfortable it is, and whether they love it. The rest is just fashion and fashion will pass and we'll look back and wonder what the fuck we were thinking (recalls white deep-V's only a year or so ago).

  • agree with yorgo, and my first impression was that it looks like every bike at polo.

    same nauseating colour mismatch too.

maybe now all you style icons busting it out on your deep v's might realise what a bunch of cocks you are.

    (joke)

  • It's still a plug and from what I've heard they're mega heavy. I quite like the idea of the pink and if someone gave it to me I'd ride it but I'd not buy one. I think they'll get very popular because it's an off the peg that has a lot of things that people look for when they first get into fixed gear like risers and deep v's. Now that I've been riding fixed for a few months things like that don't interest me any more. I'd much rather a good pair of light wheels and some drops to cut through the air.

  • The Plug looks nice, if a bit heavy. Don't like the colours myself.

  • You know, if it's £400 and comes with a brake... there's the root of a fixed/single speed bike hire company to be had there. London is screaming out for the ability to hire a decent bike when you need one at a decent rate. To cover £400 is pretty easy, the cost to rent a shitty hybrid in London is "Per hour £3.00, 1st day £18.00, Next days £9.00(days 2 & 3) £6.00(days 4 & 5), 1st week £48.00, 2nd week £10.00", a few Plugs in stock and a flat daily rate of £14-ish per day and you'd be set pretty quick, and this forum would provide a lot of business because you'd catch the market of people who are into fixed/ss around the world travelling to London and wanting a bike.

Cheers ! :)[/quote]for a front brake you just need a hollow quill stem bolt run the cable down and out the fork crown and reverse your brake pull, tho clearance for the cable nevermind the brake might be a problem maybe thats why weve not seen it yet.
