hippy You're lighter than me stompy and I ride 100psi. It's the magic number.
I can get away with 85psi :) Wouldn't 3psi be the magic number?
-

most presta valves only hold 100+ for a few days, if you leave your bike for more than a week you'll most likely be around 80-90 psi anyway.

hi all am trying to get hold of a cheap tyre (second hand will do) wonderin if anyone knows where to pick one up cheap as i skidded one out in one day when my front brake died.
-
• #86
i have a second hand one you can have, there's no kevlar left, it has a one inch gash in the sidewall, and in four places i've skidded right through to the beading wires. you'll get a puncture every 6 metres, but save £20.

lol thanks for the offer but the one i got only has one gash. and my friends said i should dump it lol

I have one but I can't ship it - pickup only. I'm in San Francisco.

there is a cheap all black tyre in bulk at Condor ( just left of the stairs ).
No folding, no Kevlar, but still made out of rubber.. I think
They go for 8 quid. -

What about Vittoria Rubinos. They're like £6.50 I think. I've not got a set but will be buying them maybe next month. People on here recommend them. Or it could be the Rubino Pro's they recommend. Either way. At £6-8 you can afford to test the water.

I think the overuse of the term 'lol' might be making your tires wear out quickly.
try 'rofl' it's a less abbrasive

bit of a noob question but whats the diff between No folding and folding tyres?? pros and cons
-
• #94
Folding tyres fold. Non folding tyres don't fold.
-
• #95
folding
- can fold and fit into bag or back of jersey
-little lighter - fractionally less puncture resistant
-more expensive
rigid
-lots space
-solid
-cheap! - can fold and fit into bag or back of jersey

Hell yeah, let's have some fucking class around here.
:)
mine say 100psi minimum, max 130. i opted towards the higher end as i've already had 4 punctures this week and getting a bit fed up (although know i should take the kevlar into account). colour maybe looks a bit naff with my grey lemond, but gives me an incentive to get the paint job done that i've been wanting ;-) oh, and i'm sure they'll get dirty over the next couple of days anyway - no fairweather commuting for me.
