silasmellor i've got a conti race something or other, light, has a big skid patch on one end, but its not skidded all the way through... you can have that if you want.
that would be most kind of you sir i just need a usuable tyre at the moment i have an old town bike wheel when i have a brand new(ish) racing wheel at my mates house just need to repair an innertube and get a tyre and ill be away -

i've got an armadillo that's skidded thru to the red bit, you can have it.
the last one i had almost had a ring of thread showing through and i still haven't had a puncture.
for cheap tyres in black, goto cyclebasket.com they do vittoria zaffiro's for 4.80 each. p&p 6quid though. but you can get 12 of them in one go should last you about a year?

I do not recommend Armadillos - I used 700x25s for nine months for my 100-mile/week commute and I had a puncture every other week. And I find them sluggish. So, I'd say they are all pain no gain
Have switched to Michelin Lithion 700x23s which are an instant hit with me for speed. But will have to wait and see how they do in the puncture department...

don't use blizzard sports if you skid...I've gone through mine in less then 2 weeks.
if you don't skid they are the shizzle...and cheap. -

Schwalbe Ultremo 2 months now @ 150 miles/week = one puncture due to evil metal splinter, just laughs at glass. For the wieght of them very impressed though no skidding.
