well...after a bottle of wine, the 'that's why' section of the specialized site just weirded me out. cutting open a saddle to reveal fleshy innards? whoa.

everyone's arse is different, not all saddles work
had a spesh BG once, it was fuckin miserable.
they only cater for humans, that's the error.

i guess you're right, everyone has his cup of tea, i met people that ditched Fizik for Brooks and viceversa and all sorts of other opinions and stories...but i think we'll all agree with the fact that a saddle with a cavity in its middle's better than others.
If you want Brooks i'd say get a vintage one, i bought a professional for £12 a bit of polishing here and there and it was perfect. No breaking in jibba-jabba!
p.s. i still prefer my spech tho..lol -

Comfort
- Brooks Pro
- Turbo
I really don't like how a brooks look on most bikes, some setups are nice but most are ugly.
Turbo saddles look good on classic steel frames and they fit my backside nicely as well. - Brooks Pro

Brooks Team Pro - http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/br/brooks-team-pro-saddle.jpg
Sooo great lookingFor those who sold their brooks you missed on a good thing eventually. i know, the break in time totally sucks but once things set in it will be so dang comfy. there is seriously nothing like leather.

I grew up with plastic BMX saddles, so my Brooks Pro feels like pure luxury after that

RPM that sorta contradicts my experience..
can ride the brooks commando, padded briefs, whatever, don't matter
padded shorts are ok, but too much chamois cramps the ole' fella, janart?I should've clarified: I was using the Brooks on (don't laugh too hard) my track bike. So, I was only on it for a couple of hours a week.
It sucked but I was saving for another Flite. I ebayed the Brooks. I still wish I could find another one of those cheap mtb GT saddles, mid-90's.. -

My Flite saddles are leather.. and titanium.. and carbon-fibre.. :)

i have no idea what my saddel is other then its not leather (the 2 part pealing damage is a tell tail sign of man madedness), it came frome the bin with the frame and it is well comfy in jeans, or comando (tho thigns tend to chafe), i have never had a pair of cycle shorts in my life so i have no idea if they make a difference. I tried to ride my freinds bike with a brooks, but never sat down cuz frankly leather discusts me

I've had one of those sitting in the cupboard for, damn, must be 8 months or more now! I really should fit it and see what it's like.

I think everyone's arse is obviously different but surely there must be similarities?
Ie. another skinny fella with no arse to speak of (like me) and who also rides in a similar
position to me would quite likely have a similar preference in saddles yes? Bit simplistic maybe
but you get what i mean perhaps? -

Also - I have a problem at the moment where my saddle (a pointy pro-lite) rubs holes in my jeans
really quickly! I think it's because it has the brand etc stitched into it - and the stitching
rubs against my skinny sitbones and my jeans. Anyone got any ideas if it is the stitching that does this?
And would seams - like the ones on the fizik arione - also rub my jeans do you think?Hate not being able to ride in my "normal" clothes.
I had a brookes swallow. I hated it - one of the most uncomfortable saddle i have ever ridden. Sold it to some guy last month on Ebay ..but, each to his own!
