When I tuck my trousers into my socks it causes a bunch up bulge that rubs my cranks and results in a silver bit
-
• #4053
Funnily enough I tuck a sock into my trousers to create a bulge.
-
• #4054
I only get it with clipless pedals. Must put my heel too close to the crank.

I mean it's ok, but so are other counties.

Oh and if I'm riding SPDs but at a slow speed and filtering I'll often not clip in and having my shoe wedged against the crank is where it's least likely to slip

I've never got how quickly some people manage to drive off after getting in their car, but maybe this is why.
Virtually all these people have never imagined the distribution of oil in their engine

That’s me. I use pedal spacers on the right cos my foot sits toes-out. Years ago I rode clips n straps and forcing my foot straight messed with my knee something rotten.

Sorry for crank shaming all you weirdos. It would drive me absolutely mad.
Even in winter overshoes I don’t brush the cranks. And I wear wide fit in Bont shoes so I haven’t got skinny feet.

It is called start up wear for a reason, and depends if the oil film has had enough time to dissipate.

Sorry for crank shaming all you weirdos.
Only my RHS crank for some reason, could have been:
- Dodgy cleat alignment on shoe
- Too much float
- Dodgy knee alignment (i.e. physiological)
- Dodgy pedalling technique
- Something else
Never bothered to put the time in to try and work out what it was.
- Dodgy cleat alignment on shoe

This will totally mess you up also, I often get grease marks on the inside of my right calf...

This feels like something of a humble-brag tbh.

I ride with wire wool on the inside of my shoes to maximise crank rub, it's my kink
-
• #4066
It looks like some folk do. Quite often see an ad on eBay saying ‘a bit of heel rub on the cranks’ and they’re bare metal.
-
• #4067
You want bare metal cranks bruv.
Why you ride miche cranks, they're bare cheese. -
• #4068
Ive been meaning to confess this for many years……
I’ve never got the funny extra triangle in GT frames, it’s just not necessary -
• #4069
My feet naturally turn out like clown shoes, so all my cranks and seat stays are rubbed bare because my heel kicks in. And the older ones actually have wear on the metal of the frame. You don't notice it when it happens; you don't feel your heel strike something.
I had a bike fit years ago where they put motion trackers on you and all that and the guy didn't mention it as a problem. But when I was a kid my dad was constantly telling me to point my feet forwards.

Those are probably my favourite frames. In fact a lot of my favourite ever frames are triple triangle
-
• #4071
Triangles are strongest, triple triangle is almost triangle³, strongest strong thing, so strong.
-
• #4072
That's a kick-arse photo.

I can't stand any frame where the seat tube, seat stays and top tube don't all meet at the same place. This rules out pretty much any modern frame.
this is my most recent frame.

Wonder if you could have trained your legs into being ‘normal’ by putting increasingly thick pipe lagging on the stays to slowly force your heels back out.
-
• #4075
My heels are the unstoppable force. I can't be arsed taking a pic cos it's freezing, but on my cross bike the actual aluminium of the seat stays is worn away. Pipe lagging would have stood no chance!
Really I want my ankles taking off and reattaching properly
Yeah that's me.
I guess I just have wider feet than you.
