The SKS SPEEDROCKER XL are hideously ugly but they are probably the best option without p-clips and Velcro.
Similar the the ones above but a bit longer

Thanks dude.
SKS Veloflexx 55
"The rear fender is entirely too short for use in group rides." is unfortunate. The rear is all I was really interested in. I don't tend to run a front with the toe overlap of midfoot.

Getting there. Still probably not as long as the Crud Road Racers I bought for the TT bike but I ended up selling off unused.

Hippy buy a bike with mudguard mounts like Giant Defy

I haven't raced a triathlon for years. The bike I would normally use for this kind of ride is still in a box on the continent. I'm not buying another one and I don't really want to ride the flat-bar Surly for 400k.
Currently the weather looks shit enough that I might just not bother at all. Fucking UK "Indian Summer" bullshit.

I never understood why you lot were all buying Cruxes when you live in the UK. We all need mudguards

The only reason I use mudguards nowadays is that I tend to ride with my missus. I trained and raced for years without the stupid things. The only reason the Mason got one fitted in the end was because the org of the Wessex Series requested them and I didn't want to be a dick.
It's almost certainly the reason it threw me off in Portugal... the shame of having been fitted with mudguards turned it against me. -

Mudguards are the prostate test of the bike world.
Taboo but secretly enjoyable?
-
• #32161
Or that you need to use a finger to unclog some mud before you carry on?
-
• #32162
I was implying "nobody really wants one but it might help keep your bum clean" or something.
-
• #32163
Oh right yeah sure. That's what I was thinking too
-
• #32164
Maybe. Thanks.
I'll try and summon the fucks to google some mudguards :)
-
• #32165
Or you look and feel like a prick while they're in use but there's a satisfying warm glow about your arse afterwards?

• #32166
Ffs 😂

Look in the winter bikes and mudguard threads for ideas.
There's a cute hack threading into a thru axel.

Gravel riders, what 'upgrade' can I buy that will be pointless other than giving me joy? Don't say mudguards - I'm happy with my winwing.
Practically speaking, I need to shorten the stem (very specific model required) and lower the stack.
-
• #32171
Maybe a suspension stem?

• #32172
Wide aperture camera lens for those shallow depth of field bike photos
-
• #32173
Oh that's a great idea except:
- Suspension stems are great and actually work, they're not pointless lol.
- This is for my Grevil, it has some custom Pinarello/Most aero stem - normal stems look hideous as a result.
- I already have a Redshift stem taken off my previous, now sold gravel bike!
- Suspension stems are great and actually work, they're not pointless lol.

Oof, that's a new expensive hobby all together. I'll pass - for now. I do regularly take snaps of the new moon/waxing crescents and similar, so can see this happening one day.

Change all the bolts with fancy titanium ones in oil slick?
