I'd get some canisters.
I prefer this type where you can control the release and have a foam holder
But for my road bike saddle pack I just have the lighter but basic screw-in presta only one.

Also very envious of this ride.

Whow.

Oooh I have never considered CO2 cartridges before, but you might be on to something. I wonder how many it would take to do the job. Considerably less weight than carrying a track stand around all the time.

What about an electric pump? I have a cycplus as2 that I take on rides as first choice, with an ultralight mini pump as back up. One of their bigger pumps would take the work out.

an electric pump
I had literally no idea these existed. Oh brave new world etc etc

Just wanna say thank you for all your help chaps. The trike was incredibly fun and your collective advice proved, very, very useful.
London Green Cycles also gave me some pointers and got me to test ride the thing and practice turning. Overall it was absolutely fine, a bit sketchy going downhill pretty quick and not distributing weight properly though lol!
Would 100% do a trip like this again. Best way to see London in my opinion.

I think I used two to inflate my motorcycle rear once (130/80R17)
I think they're great. I typically carry a small pump on a bicycle, but in your case (assuming you don't get loads of flats) I think they'll be the easiest. I think you can get them in different grame weights so you might be able to work out exactly what you need. But I'd probably just tape 3 together and keep them packed somewhere.
Mine fits in this little orange pouch

Amazing! Did the kids enjoy it?

Yeah, smiles and laughs all around! I think next time we'll do a landmark tour, many of the tiles on the board don't have that much in terms of iconic structures.

Sounds like a plan. CS3 is a great little tourist route and loads of it is away from traffic which is nice.
-
• #14269
Oh, this is interesting!
@ltc yeah I've done plenty of commutes via C3. I might freestyle next time, or go through all the parks. £60 was reasonable, but not something I'd want to pay too often lol.
I was just fixing up their bikes now (one needs new cables for everything), as locally, we have Epping Forest, Gunpowder Park, and the one just north of it, which is nice. Not sure they're ready for the Lea Valley canal heading south yet.

That looks great! Tell us about the rear rack too
-
• #14272
Ah of course you have! It's a shame all of the juicy landmarks are a bit further west of you or you could start practicing your tour guide routine on your commute.

there was discussion of this a couple pages back 3-4k seemed to be the range for 2nd hand

• #14274
ah, thanks! My LBS said there were some charities around that often buy these bikes too.

You've sold it to me, purchased. Cheers!
