I've been following along on Strava, this looked so, so good!
-

You seem to have found some trails in Epping Forest that I'm not familiar with
-
• #31329
I know Mason do... surprised Stayer don't tbh!

Fabric do saddles and bar tape, or at least they did.

The last photo is fire

• #31332
Appears they do, are they still a British company?

Owned by Dorel Sports, who own Cannondale, but still based in Frome (I think?).
-
• #31334
Cannondale now owned by PON group
-
• #31335
Spa cycles have their own brand of stuff like saddles and tape which is well reviewed

Thanks for the heads up, seems to be more leather than I would wish..

Any Crux owners got, erm, suspension?
£350 Fox 32 SC in orange was a little too tempting for me. -
• #31338
No, but I have seen a Sequoia like my partner's one with a front sus fork installed.
-
• #31339
I would say just get a hardtail but nah that sounds fun! Photos when you put it together.
-
• #31340
Half the point of the Crux is lightness. I'd build a hardtail around the fork and install a Redshift stem on the Crux if I wanted more cush
-
• #31342
Does anyone else find it kind of ironic using "getting air" as an ad for a suspension fork?
-
• #31343
Let's not Diverge from the point here.
-
• #31344
Stick to the crux of the matter.

eeSilk post, Redshift stem
I've not used Redshift post but if I can find one cheap I'll grab one. I want to add a sus post to the Surly and maybe the Crux

eeSilk post
Has it needed much in the way of looking after?
If you can't destroy something then nobody can

I mean, it did fall apart on the first ride :D
Once the bolt in question had threadlock on it, it's been fine. I do carry a spare they sent me on most rides but it's never loosened off since.
It makes a noticeable difference.

It makes a noticeable difference
I did have an old Thudbuster for a while and liked it, but I'm only really after something with a tiny bit of cush and the eeSilk+ seems to fit the bill with 35mm movement
Use of threadlock noted!

Mine is the 20mm alu eeSilk version. I was going to get an eeSilk+ for the Surly if I could find it < RRP
We camped in the car park at the hostel, and got to that col in the background of your photo about half an hour before sunrise. The walk was nice, but there were still about 50-60 people gathered round trying to get their insta-shot. By the time we left half an hour later the car park was almost completely full and the trail was shoulder to shoulder.
