New Urban Arrow. Front suspension, integrated lights and new motors. Looks a lot more refined.

Has anyone successfully transported a long tail cargo bike - yuba Munda, Kona Ute, Surly big dummy etc on their car? Interested to hear if there is a roof/tow bar solution.
I've got a Thule velocompact tow bar rack and my yuba mundo doesn't fit.
Looking at maybe a tandem roof rack or motorcycle towbar rack, but wanted to check if someone has already cracked it.

All the UAs I've come across have had integrated lights and front suspension. The stock suspension has always been shit and needed replacing after not much use so maybe that's an improvement though? I like the green, a bit more interesting than the white or black. Still got the awful stem and bars though.

I don’t think the stock suspension is any shitter than what’s on other cargo bikes, it’s just not really built for how it’s used - ie getting hammered with 0 maintenance.
The suspension they introduced in limited numbers on their anniversary model looked promising, but apparently they can’t produce it in large quantities atm…

They sure don't shout about the 100h service life in the marketing blurb...

Classic case of giving people what they think they want. In reality just more stuff to break. I’ll admit to have gotten my self into trouble a few times under biking on my UA but sus suspension would not have saved me. The only cool thing for me is the moved foot cut out

Yeah, the suspension situation is absurd really... And wasteful.
I bought about 100 of the 20” suspension forks direct from Spinner (exactly the same spec as supplied from UA) as they never had fuckin stock and would refuse to sell us more than 1 or 2 every 6 months. Before tax, shipping and import fees they were like £30 each 😂. (Maybe double that after all the fees) And they kinda do the job for about a year or 2.
I think a better alternative would need heavy investment and cost significantly more money. So that’s why the lack of really any significant designs optimised for cargo (low maintenance!!!).

I've been shit talking suspension on cargo bikes since day one.
That said, they could make a very simple spring fork with two stages of spring similar to how leaf springs are stacked in a truck.

Also the argument that kids need it is such bunk. My kid thinks riding cobbles or gravel paths is hilarious.

I was trying to think about parallels in motorcycles.
The trouble is for a bike it needs to be comparatively light, but for a cargobike it needs a high load capacity. Most smaller motorcycles are light so don't need heavy duty suspension, but even then the units weigh a fair bit.
Maybe go back to older designs?

We fly off curbs with two kids in the ebullitt "hang on tight. It's a big one!". Kids don't care one bit as and the ebullitt is completely indestructible.

Possible moped or ruckus parts could be helpful. The problem is that the payload over the front wheel is anywhere from 30lbs to 200lbs depending on what's in the box.
Mostly though it's a non-existent problem.

Exactly.
A Cb125 is about 130kg total + say 100kg of rider and gear is 230kg.Idk what the weight distribution is, but even if you're generous and say it's 50:50 that's 115kg.
So maybe that's the question. Would a CB125 front end be an unacceptable trade off?
Gut says that a really big chubby tyre wouldn't give a better compromise

Same, have an urban arrow, bullit and a long tail. None have suspension. Kid has never cared. Sh yells ye-haw when we hop curbs now.

after trying out all the expensive cargo ebikes at eurobike it's kind of hard to come back to the real world and ride my omnium.
I also loved the bikes with enviolo, feels sooooo smooth and quiet compared to Rohloff

I always shout 'Brace Brace' for curbs

Check this fork out I posted a few months ago. Hideous obviously !!

Not a hot take 😂.
Unless enviolo has suddenly become viable for heavy duty e cargo use. They might have!

What? Enviolo is just… i am not a fan.

I'm probably going to sell my Omnium soon. Black, size large, full size cargo model, WiFi. Moved out of London and consequently never use it now. Haven't priced it up yet but just posting in case there's interest

Potentially! Drop me a message when you figure a price.

Take it easy on your spokes! I'm also not convinced by suspension on cargo bikes. Never had an issue with rigid forks on the Bullitts and trikes I used to ride. Did have loads of issues with suspension forks on the UAs I rode after that.

Selling complete ?
Just in colour, I'll check those out
