  • @inkleined my kona ute went in a Toyota Avensis estate with the rear seats flat no probs I don't see why it wouldn't work on a conventional rear rack with both wheels removed and stored in the car?

  • I plan to, yeah. I'll have a think about it tomorrow, take a pic and get back to the people who have messaged or commented

  • I don’t want to, I really don’t want to, but I think I have to sell my bullitt. And use the funds for a car.
If I’m only going 5 km what’s the best kid carrier (they’re 7)?

  • Some sort of Long / mid tail maybe? Depending on hillyness doesn’t even need to be electric. Could always get a swytch go or something further down the line be a nice cheap option.

  • Omnium mini max

  • On suspension, had a few different cargo bikes without suspension with kids… once I got the Load 60 there was no going back to a cargo bike without it, but we use it off road a lot and live in a very potholed area.

Kids barely move over the biggest impacts - I suspect this is due to the rear suspension too and front alone wouldn’t be as significant.

  • Get a tandem. Cheap and come with child assistance. What is the rationale for a cargo bike with a 7yo? Isn't this your youngest too? So what's that 1yr of use?

Thorn Voyager are regularly <£500. Circe Helios Triplet would be the baller option and probably still a fraction of cargo bike.

(only speaking from the experience of trying to justify a mid/long tail then coming to the realisation that it's not the correct solution... although I think some sort of rear mounted bike is what I'll actually go for now)

  • Use case is : bombing down to dance lessons on a busy road.its about 1 and a bit km. I love the cargo. So does my youngest.
Buses are fucked and I’m not sure I fancy tandeming them down the road etc.
I also don’t fancy driving them there as it is pointless and takes longer than walking.

I think a long tail might be better than an omnium.

  • Honestly a cheaper longtail ex yuba or something is probably exactly what you need

  • My advice?
    BUY IT!!

  • Is it yours?

  • Haha! If it was I wouldn’t be selling it!

  • It’s quite local so I’m going to go and give it a Quick Look.

  • That is so rad

  • I’m trying!

  • Wider piece of plywood on the base, ply across the top to sit on, stoker bars to hold onto.

  • Am also in discussions on this
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166826951250

  • This is the exact one I was thinking of because it's in SE. Should have shared it.

Has the adjustable cranks / cranks with 2nd set of pedal holes too.

    Also

    cough

  • (although a mid or long tail might be better as the overall footprint is probably more manageable - 215cm for a Ute vs 240cm for that thorn)

  • My youngest cannot ride a bike to the level she needs to.

  • Can always put a seat on the rear or?

  • Some cunt blasted past me when I was in the bus lane an hour ago.
There was approximately enough room between me and the cars on my right.
I’d safely estimate their speed to be accelerating from 20 - 50?

The idea of a tandem can fuck off.
