  • Definitely can, and probably will a little bit later. Sometimes the tinkering to find the obvious is the fun piece.

Your bike looks great, one of my favourites.

  • hinge by omnium@eurobike24

  • Have also done this with a heavy cargo strap. Works a treat.

  • cool, i thought they were prob cooking something up for themselves as they wern't reposting any of the Damgood.bike cargo hinge piccys (afai saw anyway).

  • The amount of cargo bike stuff here at eurobike is nuts.

    Quite fancy a Lax

  • Send some pics of the new Muli stuff please! Their social media is too elusive..

  • This is a conventional Hamax Caress, mounted backwards on the steering post. The caress reclines by 20 degrees

That’s what I did on mine originally. It was great!

Another good one for rear facing when they’re small is the Melia Toddler seat. It straps down and has its own seatbelts 👍

  • What age did you lot start your child off on your cargo bike, and what sort of seat did you use?

  • 6 months, car seat.

  • 6 months, one of the melia 6 month+ can't remember exactly which one there's a few and it was black.

  • Did you just strap it down? What bike was it?

    Same question @Gewürzt?

  • Bullitt with a wooden box, I bolted it to the box by screwing through the seat.

  • Ratchet straps, Bullitt

  • 3 months, car seat with spring suspended mounting frame.
    Bullit

  • Three weeks! Gavin is a framebuilder and made an amazing custom Isofix bracket for our spanky Joie car seat to work in a Bullitt. Never had a problem at all and when we had some sleepless nights, a quick night ride, all bundled up, would send our bubba to sleep.

  • Interesting! I have an omnium mini-max and have been telling myself that I need to wait until she is 5 months old before I can even consider doing it. Maybe I am wrong!

I need to work out how to get the car seat on to the bike safely and do some trial runs, but maybe it is time!

  • The Mini-Max is a little bumpier than the Cargo. I waited a bit (12 months IIRC) then just strapped the stroller top on the rack with a couple of innertubes, it's a but bulkier than a car seat, but it meant I could use rain cover and winter inserts. One of my colleagues started younger on his MM, car seat, strapped.

  • Did they put a solid base down like the child seat mount or strap tight on top of the webbing?

  • The few of us who went down that route used the webbing. It provides a little bit of suspension and friction.

  • Not sure if its new but they had these on the stand.

  • legend, thanks! looks cool..

that LAX bike is sweet as well!

  • What's the recco on fat 20" tyres? Ideally the colour of an old school BMX tyre....

  • What do you mean by old school bmx, the tyres were skinny compared to today's standard.

My recommendation will be something wide (2.3 + if you have the clearance) with a file/knurled finish and some grooves.
