Just bought for the Crux 50/37 for my axs power spider…. Cue instant anxiety of if it’ll work with a 10-36 36 max rear mech and fit. Thinking I’ll get either new red front mech or wide force.
Can anyone offer any reassurance/ advice?
-
• #30715
orly? That’d be so rad! I can compensate with a Dom’s Sub, coffee or beers…
I usually bungee or inner-tube wheels to the outside of a backpack when on the bike. You cycling or driving?

• #30716
Sounds good drop me a DM with some details and can figure something out.
-
• #30717
You should be good no? The 10-33 and 10-36 casettes go with pretty much every AXS chainset size/type, providing your rear RD has capacity for the 36t.
-
• #30718
Was just worried about total chain length and “wrap capacity” or is that no longer a thing??
-
• #30719
Yeah it probably is, do you know what RD you have? Last I checked my XPLR Force was of course fine for such big cassettes, by my Force 'road' can't handle more than 30 or 33t. I believe it's stamped on the RD.
If this is your crux/cx/grav bike I imagine you have a 36t/44t max?

There's also this useful but at first confusing chart (see pg.2). If I've followed the lines correctly, you're good!
-
• #30721
Ta I think so… can’t see front ring sizes??
Maybe I’m being stupidMines a bit mishmash
I have 36 max Force 2nd gen rear mech
Red dub crank with pm spider -

Yep. Doing a gravel week with some mates from London. Bit of Badlands, some Transibérica, some of his own. Great route.
Saying that, did the Peseta climb out of Almeria today. That can fuck right off!

Did notice and did wonder. I concluded that size up front doesn't matter. It's all about the RD and cassette. There's a PM chainset with model number PM-RED-D1 54-41 which can take the 10-36 as well, so the 50/37 has gotta be okay, innit?
Yeah we're all a bit mish-mash. I had my Force FD-FRC-E-D1 replaced on warranty (despite being 6 months out) with a FD-FRC-E-D2. My bike looks like a wrong'un now. And my Grevil is an utter AXS cocktail lol. All it needs is some Eagle parts to be more confused. With the new Red prices, things are gonna get even more mish-mash I imagine. I want the brake levers already!
-
• #30724
Front ring size doesn't matter, only jump between chainrings, and it's all the same in AXS.
-

Levers are ridiculously priced if you ask me! I’d like them but meh
Was hoping for a bit more from the new Red maybe still to come.
@dbr if you come to SE6 lets have a flat white
