Really hyped about each iteration here. That last stem handlebar combo is definitely my favourite.
Where does one get those copper/gold colour screws? -

Beer or coffee?
Good bike that. And one of the funnier thread titles.

Cheers! That combo is a winner for sure. Those are M5 brass cap head bolts from eBay. I blame Eric Marth…
They’re ~£4 each if made in Blighty or else 40 pence a piece from China, incl. postage.

Big fan of friction shifting for builds like this. Time for a brief spin around the block at lunch.

I love the mix of new and retro parts on this build. Can not wait for the full reveal!

Thanks Josh!
First impressions from a brief spin around the block are great, coming from slender-forked rim brakes I feared the Hog’s chunkier tubing might make it feel muted or dead but that doesn’t seem to be the case. The 80cm handlebars though are too wide, I’ll probably take an inch off each side. And these grips aren’t anywhere as glowy as this photo makes out but still pretty cool!

Looks great! It MAY need silver bars you know, to really tie it together

dont listen to the polished finishing kit perverts

I agree. A lot is going on here, which isn't a bad thing - but I think the silver bar, post and stem combo will look better and more fitting.

Sacré bleu! The hodgepodge of black and silver is intentional, we Blue Lug enjoyers call it ✨ Panda ✨

Change to black post, silver bars. ;)

Fair enough, to each their own. Doesn't sit with me lol - unless there's a clear method to the madness, or through good use of accents.

Let the man cook y'all, reserve judgement until we finally get a full bike pic.

Appreciate the feedback folks! Love how invested you all are in this. The bike actually looks fire — I don’t think I’ve ever been so quietly confident in /chuffed with a build as I have with this — but appreciate a grainy low-light garage photo doesn’t portray that well. Will be sure to do a full bike shot on Friday afternoon once the hoses, bars and steerer tube have been cut.
The last bits are here, booked a slot with Paul at Cyclo Fabrica in Bristol on Friday to give it the chop.
