Recycled from the Riv, I’ll be damned if I don’t eke every last bit of value from SimWorks’ brass goods lol

During my visit to Malmesbury earlier this week, I also collected these 36h Cliffhangers for my Overbury’s Pioneer, reusing the original Deore LX hubs from 1990. They replaced Mavic MB-40s which I think had 13(?)mm internal width. The 2.1” GK SKs have ballooned to 56mms on these wide bois, such a pleasing profile. So wide I need new straddle cables, lol. Also happy to report that VO’s cantilever rack is a direct fit. And peep the @Hulsroy side-loaders too, perfect for the retro double downtube bidon setup going on here.

Thanks so much folks, appreciate the comments. Unlike my other bikes, there's an obvious overlap between the Overbury's and the Hog's Back. Time will tell if they ride materially differently! But I couldn't stand the thought of making the Hog different for the sake of it, when I know that 26"/2x/flat bar makes so much sense for the type of off roading I do.

Overbury looks to have a higher BB than the HB.
I will echo my previous statements about mudguards and dynamo lighting on the Hog's Back, as imo it will be a lot nicer to ride a disc brake bike like the HB in the dark and wet months.

Wow, these M6100 brakes are nice. So...techy.
I copied the rear brake hose routing from one of Circles' builds which means the downtube shifter and front bag are unimpeded. No chance I'm getting away with not trimming the hoses though, glad I ordered spare barbs etc. Definately a job for when the kids are asleep. Temporarily using the CowCows to mock it up till the Motos arrive.

I think you should buy my nitto stem. That Zipp is wrong. Sorry

Heh, it's a jarring stopgap till I'm certain on the fit. Nitto you say...

Woah that’s radical routing, will have to see if I can make that work on my bike.

Lovely stem, but the negative rise when flipped will be too low methinks.

The only potential snag I see with this, is stem bag usage. Moreso the left side...

😭
From my experience, as these beautiful mechs are meant for triples they some times needs to be set a little higher than you think due to you using in theory the middle and inner ring of a triple.
So it can be set a bit higher, for piece of mind if that's what you want!
