Thanks! Here's a few photos of what we had. Not pictured was the Persian cauliflower dish which comes with some very convincing vegan merguez sausages. A bit too close for me, I'm not into fake meats. Simon had the creme brulee for dessert which was surprisingly light.

Looks delish! Love their ethos and that they're in Borough Market. Will have to check them out when I am next in town.

Has anyone used a "plant milk" making machine at all and is it any good?
Ive made oat milk before without one and it just tasted too bland and watery and did not mix well in tea / coffee etc.

Where's good for lunch on a Saturday around Hammersmith? I'm never ever in west London so don't mind travelling a little bit for somewhere really good!

Bad Brew has finally opened on Coldharbour lane, nice coffee and they do an absolutely huge vegan croissant for £2.30

2nd time I’m trying juicy marbles steaks, this was really good but they are a fair amount of effort to get right :)

I had Juicy Marbles steaks last night as well. Chimichurri and peppercorn sauce not pictured.
They are tricky to cook. I find that they are b at cooked over medium heat in a bit of oil in a pan with the lid on, flip every few minutes.

I specially took a wander to Waitrose recently to get a couple of those - they’re £9 for two quite small steaks! Definitely file under nice but a bit pricey.

Just checked out of interest, as haven’t bought animal meat in years, juicy marbles are cheaper per kilo than beef fillet steak from the same supermarket. If I don’t name it there’s surely no way I can end up in the GC thread.

Yes, we usually buy it once a year lol as part of the Valentine’s Day meal deal - bottle of wine or fizzy wine, starter side main (juicy marbles) and dessert for £20

not sure the baby chick escaping the potato egg is very vegan

My local Waitrose was pretty thin on stock of a lot of veggie stuff but shelves packed full of these steaks. I'm not surprised they're not selling at £9. Madness for what is fundamentally the same soy protein ingredients as all of the other meat replacements at a fraction of the cost.

They're priced where I consider them for a special occasion because they're cheaper than a takeaway or a meal out.

Can anyone here recommend a vegan lentil based spag bol recipe?
-
• #10325
Not quite a spag bol but this lentil based ragu recipe is amazing and goes well with pasta (even better with a roast sweet potato though).
The drawback is that it takes ages to cook (not a huge amount of active messing about though) and the ingredients are quite pricey.
