I've been on $99/year for like five years, usually 10+ months a year.
Love their work, I reckon I've had incredible value from them and it's still a great deal at full price.

I just looked and I only cancelled once back in 2018 so I've been running at $12usd/month since 2016 except for that year-ish break in the middle. That's >£500. Cheaper than a human coach and I do get a LOT of use out of it. But still, if I'm not using it, it seems sensible to stop throwing money at it if I can.

If nothing else, it's flipping the bird at them for using US dates in their emails :D

You can retain the legacy pricing.
I know, but they are clearly not happy about it so I won't carry on with it. I see where they are coming from, it's just that I usually don't touch the turbo from about May-December, so paying monthly actually works better for me.
Win-win!
The only concerning thing about it was that, if the legacy pricing has become a problem for them it must mean that the legacy customers are a large part of their total, which means they aren't adding so many new ones, ie not growing as fast as they thought they would.

I'm not sure of the reason, conversly I get the feeling from looking at the forum that legacy pricing makes some of the people not on it very salty which could also be a driver to be 'fair'.

is down.

Been using AI FTP Detection for the last 6 months and FTP has been low, but put that down to riding big audaxes and not doing much turbo training. Did my first ramp test in ages and +12%, back to where my FTP would normally sit.
So, I dunno, be wary of using AI FTP too much I guess.

If you’ve not been on the turbo much I’m not surprised! AFAIK that’s still their only source of data.

I mean, maybe I overstated it. It's certainly not been nothing but I don't feel it has been super consistent. If it's just taking into account recent workouts then maybe there should be a modifier based on previous FTP history.

My FTP has gone down in the last six months despite consistent turboing 🤷🏻♂️

I haven't tested my ftp for over 3 years now, and it feels marvellous

• #1663
Maybe you're doing it consistently badly? :D

I need to add regular pain and misery to my life to remind me that I'm actually still alive.

That's what hangovers are for

Hangovers are your body's way of telling you to buy more beer.

FTP goes up. Immediately fail workouts. Ahh, I remember this little game. Spend a week failing before legs and brain finally sync up and get the job done. I wish I had the motivation for this shit that I used to have for riding hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and

Seems I'm not the only one on the trainer in the summer eh. First time I've used the progression levels, they are handy, apart from all starting at 1.0 because it can't handle outside rides (yet).

I WFH so don't commute any more and don't really like riding near London any more. I've spent the last 3 years or so mostly doing trainer rides plus my events.
-

Edit. I thought it was giving progression levels for real world rides but was mistaken.
I get IF and TSS levels from outdoor workouts. Perhaps it only gives progression levels based on actual data the turbo is supplying.

Smashed the VO2s today though. Maybe next time I won't move Sat's Breakthrough workout to 2 days after my Ramp Test :)

I set my plan based on 2x 1hour turbo rides and 1x 2 hour outdoor ride but actually I have more than 2 hours for outdoors and slightly less than 1 hour ideally indoors. Am I being thick, how do I change this without starting a new plan?

Today, we’re launching Masters training plans, lowering the intensity of our existing plans, and adding the ability to change the workout duration of any workout in a plan!
Masters Plans
Masters Plans have been a long-requested feature, and I’m very excited for it to launch! The plans feature just two intense days per week, with the rest of the plan being endurance riding.
1600×711 101 KB
By default, the intense days are Tuesday and Saturday, but you can switch that around in Plan Builder if you’d like.
Who’s it for?
We recommend the Masters plans for older athletes or anyone else who might have poor recovery. This could be new parents, shift workers, athletes with high-stress jobs, or athletes with sleep issues.

Cool, make turbo easy for us oldies!
Sounds like more or less what I was doing anyway by just missing out some of the sessions, but good to formalise it. I expect the average age of their subscriber base is 40++
I'll keep monthly pricing. I like the flexibility. Sometimes I've done a year of turbo training (2021), sometimes I've so many events, I barely touch the turbo (2022). This year will be a mix so I've just set a reminder to cancel when I reckon I'll be done.
