It helps that it’s no longer so fucking cold and I’m happy to be out in the garage for an evening now. I should put an electric heater in there, but I need to seal up all the gaps before doing that otherwise I might as well throw money down a hole.

So I think I'm going to be order a R&M Load 60 - low side walls with cover, two child seats w/footwell and dual battery and a carrier. Seem sensible?

It makes it reliable, versatile (bigger gear range) and more maintenance friendly too to name a few benefits. Interested to hear off other forumers whether the new improved heavy duty nuvinci hubs are any better though 👍

Anyone else bash their knee dismounting the bullit because tektro brakes are really grabby?

Any motorcycle cover recommendations pls? will be for a benno boost with a yepp maxi. probably (hopefully) just for summer as we are between houses.

This thing is approaching its final form for this year, Its become a happy medium of a bike system I like (bike43: modular bottom bracket, steel frame) and a better accessory system (Tern)

*Please note the sarcasm. You just get better at modulating the brakes. The Tektro cargo 2.3's don't look especially fancy but afters years of battling with failed shimano 2 and 4 pot pistons snapping, exploding or just leaking far too often, LVH moved to Tektro 2.3's with the metal pistons. Yeah less heat isolation but so far I think there are ZERO failures in 2 years of production that could be attributed to a warranty issue, which is the kind of numbers I like.

Bafang owners: what do the bolts or whatever look like that connect the bottom bracket clamp thing to the motor? I suspect I have been had and they are not in the damn box.

Oh I see, there’s some tiny M6 bolts that can’t possibly reach that far. Good. Time for some bodging.

How wide is that bottom bracket?

100mm. Bafang axle is correct size, but the kit doesn’t include appropriate bolts and spacers.

Ah yeah seems they just use a sleeve and longer bolt, im sure a stack of washers would also work

Drilled out a bunch of M6 bolts. Add a couple of washers and I seem to be in business.

(Glued the stack of bolts together so they’d less annoying to work with, which is why they look a bit manky)

you are mounting a new motor to a filthy frame?

It's not the final fit, I'm just offering it up. Need to make sure the spacers are correct to get a decent chainline. I'll give it a clean before I tighten everything up properly.

It'll only get dirty again

A friend suggested that these Bafang motors require a lot of tuning once installed. Is that true?

Nope, i mean you can for sure optimize but not a requirement.
