  • The front wheel can turn, so the bike will drop if you hook it by the rear wheel.

  • Is the solution ever not zip ties?!

Thank you this has solved the problem!

  • Come see my custom cargo sized front garden Brighton Bike Shed if you’re looking. I’m 75% sure it’s against planning but I’ve made friends with my neighbours and everyone loves a sedum shed roof…

  • Was wondering if I could use two for front and rear wheel and thus avoid the front wheel turning, or alternatively fashion a bit of nice wood to do the same thing!

  • That’s very kind, I’ve PMd you!

  • Work in progress

  • Thanks for all the advice from this thread.

Me and my partner took down an old rotten shed and put together 95% of a 6 bike Asgard in one day.

We were sent one wrong roof part, but Asgard sent a new one out on next day delivery.

Having two drills would have made the whole process a lot quicker - next time I’d borrow a second as there’s so many screws.

  • Looks good. Do you chain the bikes up inside as well?

  • I’ve just done some floor anchors and bought a big chain - but we’re in a pretty small town so am not massively worried. I also think we will maybe put some hanging hooks on or re-arrange somehow. The first job was getting 6 bikes out of the lounge after living here for a year.

It would take a decent amount of noise to break into one - but I def can see that it is doable, I do think quite unlikely though. I wonder if Asgard have stats for in city break ins.

  • @elra is there enough height to hang bikes in there on the left wall from the wheels?
Would make it easier to get them in / out.

  • Any suggestions for decent storage options for 3 bikes at the front of a house that cost less (and preferably less ugly but that's not a deal breaker) than an Asgard? Needs to be reasonably secure as the area isn't exactly crime free but nothing that expensive will be going in there.

  • Had these for about a year and a half. Finally got round to fitting them with some help. From @dbr (ps thanks for the extra advice. just ended up using super long dot and Dab fixings and adding another hole at the top so 3 mounting points)

Spaced out in such a way I don’t need to twist the bars

The door isn’t needed from this room so it’s fine where they are in terms of blocking it

  • Looking clean!

  • DD.

    What are these channels called?

  • That's the kind of thing I want to try. Just not sure about the roof...

  • Loft joists should be designed for 25kg/m2 so as long as the track is fixed into and across multiple timbers, hanging a load of bikes will be fine

  • Are they M8 dia Park Tools hooks that just sort a screw in direct to the little carriages? All compatible and no faff?

  • The carriages have a bracket, two nuts on the Park hook and you're good to go. I'll get a photo at some point

  • Hooks

  • Wall-mount pedal hook style things off EBay/Amazon:

How do they cope with wide handlebars? I’m looking to hang a bike with 820mm wide flat bars, as close to the wall as possible, without having to rotate the stem.

  • 82 cm bars!? This is getting beyond a joke

  • I am a caricature of myself, and I want to hang my clown bike on the wall like a dickhead. Now please tell me what to buy, thx

  • "loft"

I'm in a flat so I guess more concerned with drilling through someone's floor @_@

  • So far so good. New paint, room rejigged. Clug.
