I'd prefer it if they cut down on the number of Apprentice adverts though.

McAlmont & Butler by looks of it (4pm on twitter bot)
The Fatboy Slim mix was OK just now, mostly as Lamacq didn't speak once it began.

The Boy Lard dropped Caught by the Fuzz, and even Gid Coe felt it necessary to get in on it and play Sun Hits the Sky.
Invader.FM was silent yesterday, hope it is ok long term.

If you’re currently enjoying Joy Orbison on R6, and well you should be, and you can get to Cambridge tonight I have a spare ticket to see him and TSHA.

dear god
the promotion of 5 or 6 bands on r.6 is beginning to get on my tits. you can't go for more than 5 minutes without hearing the same names mentioned again and again and again and againsoooooo repetitive
and why do the currently promoted female bands / singers all sound like minnie mouse on helium, the person picking the female bands for the play list has a very limited ear for music
we need more dj's like tom robinson and the rebel dread, don letts to freshen things up a bit

I was thinking that this morning at how much they're pushing Arlo Parks. I should really put this in the "I've never got" thread, but to me she has such a dull uninteresting voice, I can't listen for long enough to find out why everyone thinks she's amazing. She, and many other singers that R6 are pushing at the moment, all just sound like Dido to me.

Probable because the artists promotors are paying for the festival at some point.

I spent years loving to hate the pretentious twaddle,,
That said jam-super-nova did serve up something exciting yesterday. -

what an arlo parks remix of a big moon vs loyle carner feat. billy no mates and nia archives track with christine and the queens backing vocals ?

I think thats how fairytale of new york began

Billy no mates just sounds like shania Twain to my ears. Which is weird as she’s from from my way - Bristol.

Latest in a long line of artists pushed by their record companies through the BBC, that no one actually likes, but seem to get a load of plays. Laura Mvula's Green Garden did my head in when that was on rotation.

I like most of them, but it has got a bit mad with the 'festival' promotion recently and I don't listen that much.
I do still enjoy the surprise of getting woken at 6.55am with the new Chemical Brothers track so will stick with the morning routine.

I was at the festival the past two nights, great atmosphere, Loyle Carner was incredible.

I didn't get to go but loved it when GP played 2 of the tracks on his Sat afternoon show - which was musically up there and one of his best shows this year yet. IMO.
His interviewing skills are still shit though (how many times can one say "... I mean... yeah..." in 3 hours).I also fckng hate it when the BBC is very lazily cross-selling itself. So flipping annoying!!!!!!

Listening now to Tom Robinson, perfect for Sunday Evening. Everything but the Girl theme, due to them resurfacing after 25 years

Is nice. But not quite the same as having Iggy as you're Sunday afternoon radio DJ for 3 hours....
(we miss you Iggy.... LOL)
MAH is killing it this morning.
