Quite possibly, he's got his fingers in too many pies what with his other radio stn and recent move, a label to run, festival(s), producing, DJ-ing, etc. But it clearly shows a lack of preparation in his interviews which is a shame really.

Deb Grant has just announced she's leaving Jazz FM - which is a shame, but maybe a permanent slot on 6 instead?

Records and tea until midnight has been a massive comfort to me

Fuck sake, he's the best thing about Monday -Thursday night time radio.
Marc Riley not so much.
I remember when Jo Whiley and Simon Mayo were paired together, that went well...

Love Tom R. And less of Marc Riley is a (very) good thing IMO.
I guess with the Sounds app you choose who and when you get to (not) listen. All's good as long (as far as I'm concerned) we never ever get Keaveny back.

Giving it a month before Mr Coe just stops bothering to go into work
Pointless management ‘concept’ -

‘Roaring ‘20’s Smashy and Nicey reboot’

See, I've got the complete opposite view of this.
Gutted that Riley is being pushed out of that slot, it's exactly when the radio goes on in the kitchen every night when i'm washing up...
Ugh.

• #914
LOL.
I do the same thing (but in reverse).
Washing up mode engaged. Riley is off and I switch over to Jazz FM... -

Inevitably there's a petition
-
• #916
Just seen someone blanket posting a petition across a load of unrelated subreddits which lead me to the 6music subreddit and there's a battle going on in there.
-
• #917
Bloody hell, it's like 6 is the only radio station available or something. They know that they can just listen to something else if they don't like what's happening, right?
-
• #918
I've gone down a rabbit hole on that subreddit now and this comment about the festival is just a masterpiece of 6music stereotype for me:
Wu-Lu - loved their energy but not for me Loyle Carner - great Big
Moon - too posh and southern for me but cool they're all women Arlo
parks - excellent aa alwaysCrowd was nice, but pints were £7.40
Imo the venue is really bad, hope they move somewhere better next
year. -

What is this terrible MBV remix

Amy Lame is shit and I shouldn't have turned the radio on. But she has someone sitting in for her who is worse! DJ Paulette is playing a playlist she has no idea about "that was Battles by Atlas", and reading out links that have clearly been written for her and words she's stumbling over.
Sheesh, sometimes it is better to just do a show without a DJ.

She sounded like hospital radio's finest.

Managed decline? Make it shit enough folks won't campaign against it's closure? Does the forum still have someone on the inside?

Amy Lame is shit
Twenty years ago when she was doing Duckie and I was actively part of London's nightlife I thought she was overrated. Sounds like not much as changed, except she's now part of the establishment.
Came here to say this. The interview sections of the show are just becoming increasingly bloated and inane. While I might rate these people as musicians plenty of them seem to lead incredibly dull and self-centered lives. They usually have little to offer in terms of opinions on current affairs or whatever.
