Unlike Billy Beane's, it's apparent that Alex Cora's 'shit' does work in the post-season.

I see the B****s have won the World Series. Lots of home runs and good relief pitching, apparently, but not like in the days of Maddux nine-inning shutouts.
They seem to be hoping that the name controversy will go away. The I*****s will soon be 'The Guardians'. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Not to mention a certain has-been who probably sought to exploit all that ...
Trump released a statement in an email to supporters about his World Series appearance: “Looking forward to being at the World Series in Atlanta tonight. Thank you to the commissioner of Baseball Rob Manfred, and Randy Levine of the New York Yankees, for the invite. Melania and I are looking forward to a wonderful evening watching two great teams!”
MLB denied making the invitation and said in a statement: “He requested to attend the game.”

For those with long memories here is a postscript to events from 2007.

Mrs mashton and I are going to New York later this year. So as to experience a bona fide New York cultural event I have bought us a pair of tickets to watch a game at Yankees stadium.
It's an evening match against the Baltimore Oriels on the 6th July.
Neither of us know the first thing about baseball.
Anything we should know / do / not do/ bone up on?

At each play scream "Yankees suck!"
It's incredibly slow like cricket.
It's like a sports bar where people go to chat and drink rather than a football match where the sport is be all. -

Orioles.

First time I ever heard someone mention the Baltimore MLB team, and given the pervasive nature of US commercialisation and sponsorship I thought they said 'the Baltimore Oreos'.

Excellent, this all sounds very fun indeed!

If you can get there early, you should be able to watch some batting & fielding practise.
You might even be able to get autographs. -

Plus check as there are sometimes events pre match like carnival games and house bands. Their websites and social media are pretty comprehensive.

All good tips, thanks!

Definitely going to get a hot dog and a soft drink the size of a gasometer.

Chat to your neighbours, they will be happy to educate you. If you're anywhere near the field of play keep your eyes open for balls coming into the crowd. Learn the words for Take Me Out to the Ballgame to sing in the 7th inning stretch.
Enjoy it, you will have a great time. Evening games in high summer are great when it's warm and you can sit in a t-shirt as the sun goes down. Should be a fairly mellow atmosphere, because there are so many games and even the best teams might lose 50 games, the result of any single game is never that important and as others have said it's all about the whole experience

And don’t be suprised people leave before the end of the game. Or arrive after two innings. And Coors sucks. And that in normal games supporters from different teams sit next to each other and have fun.
Oh, and; “Red Sox suck, gooooo Yankees!”

Disappointed with my bluejays so far. Hitting ok but defence seems to have got worse.
Yeah, quite a surprise.
Still gives Brian Cashman a few extra days to sort out his changes for next season.
