  • Was reading up on the new Japanese pitcher the mets have had a wobbly start but came good in the end sealing the win for the mets

  • Did anyone go to the ballgame today? It was a one way street from the start of the second but great fun. It’s not my favourite American sport but I’d say the MLB put on the best day out.

  • Saw the thing in trafalgar Sq last night where was the game at ???

  • London Stadium.

Still a few seats available for tomorrows rematch.

  • Mets vs phillies in London next year.
    Let's go mets !

  • 10 years at $700m to the Dodgers for Ohtani. I make that the largest sports contract history

Jesus Christ I'm just glad he's not in the East

  • Anyone play baseball? I think there some London teams, right?

  • To watch or play? There are teams in Finsbury Park you can join. I've thought about it in the past.

  • There are a load in the sticks. I think we have 3 in Tonbridge.

  • To play. I always wanted to try it and never realised there were teams in London until after I left. I play for a club now in Berlin. It's quite popular in Germany, at least compared to the UK.

  • Was there a US army base near there? 3 teams is a lot!

  • Dont think so its just popular round here.

  • I've been playing 2.5years now and I'm still getting to grips with the rules. Learning it in German isn't helping. It's hard to get everything to become second nature. I can do well in training but when it comes to games it's a whole different thing. 100% the hardest sport I've played before.

  • I know everyone hates the Yankees but this is nice

  • First game (spring training) of the year.
Hit a double RBI in my first ab and got caught next one. Pitched ok. The coach asked me to only throw curveballs in my second inning, which somehow worked well.

  • Phillies vs The Mets at London Stadium this weekend, should be a bloodbath, I hope The Mets put up a fight.

  • Plays for both sides in a single game, MLB 1st

  • Miss Jano. Problem was he was a streaky hitter and not a nailed on catcher.

Kirk while not a traditional athlete or a brilliant catcher is a much more consistent hitter.

  • Where are you playing actually? I played baseball in the Netherlands in my teens but stopped due to uni. Still have my glove and I think shoes.
I reckon you play on Sunday though?

  • I play for the Challengers. They are based near Messe Süd. Our games are on Saturdays and Sundays. Training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.

There are quite a few teams in Berlin though, maybe 7 or 8, spread out all over the city.
Our next match is a Landeseliga game against the Skylarks on Sunday 1st September at their denkmal field on Tempelhofer Feld. It's my favourite place to play in Berlin.

  • That is good. MLB page:

Very odd pitching sequences because the game was suspended so early, in the top of the second. Shame the re-schedule didn't fall so that they could have got the original starters to continue where they left off.

  • Yeah that would be round my parts, always liked that random field on Tempelhofer Field. The playing level also looks more than manageable despite being out of it for now half my life.
Although I like the idea of again playing baseball, I dislike the commitment it comes with it because, life. Also, games take forever.
You say you're playing coming Sunday there? From what time? Might swing by to have a look!

  • They have all levels in Berlin, from Bundesliga 1 down to Bezirksliga. That field has an interesting story. It was built by the Americans during the Berlin airlift. It's basically unchanged since then. Scoreboard still works. It's a protected monument so they have to keep the field size as it is, which is slightly smaller than a proper field. If you're going to hit one over the fence in Berlin then Templehofer Feld is the easiest place to do it.

We start at 16:30 on Sunday. Looking forward to it a lot as we have a pause for whole of August.

  • Our team has a famous alumni.
Max Kepler played for us at one point.
