More of the Northern European earth shoe style, but has anyone ordered or dealt with Laufwerk/Maygraf shoes in Kaiserslautern before? Other than an automated order confirmation on the 7th I haven’t heard a peep from them.
No response to email either. -

Found these online. Seemed like a good deal.

Looking for some proper leather boots for mrs.
Is there merit in going up to Northampton and checking the factory outlets?
I've never done this so not sure how much of a lottery it is as to what stock they have. She is after quite a specific style like this:
Plan be would be to go to a Cheaney shop in town and pay max dollars.

I am also considering this early in the New Year (bit closer for me though, probably - only 35 miles). Will report back when I go.

I’m in Northampton - happy to keep an eye out for anyone if there’s specific things in mind.
I’m actually heading to C&J and Church’s factory shops on Friday as it happens

They're great!

awesome
coops and 'loin, if you happen to see any women's derby or chelsea boots, plain or semi brogue, with cleated sole, not in a totally funky colour, let me know where they are and how much £.
for ref, in C&J silly shoe name parlance, Grace 2, Poppy, Molly, Jane would all be contenders:
cheers!

I have a pair of Grensons that are fairly similar to that, they only seem to list ones with chunky soles now though

They do these in womens

Yeah, that's the sort of thing but she actually wants a chunky sole like commando or Vibram.

What size? Would a male UK5 work? If so she'll have plenty more options
-
• #8839
You would have to check the width my Grenson and Loake boots are on really wide lasts

Would a male UK5 work?
more like UK 6.5.
Edit - ah, I see what you mean. Yes, men's range deffo an option.

I've got these Clarks boots - "tobacco" and size 9.5. I've had them for a number of years but they dont quite fit me, so I pull them out this time of year, wear them once and put them away as I still really like the way they look: not bulky, blocky or stompy.
Say £15 and collect from south hampstead/ swiss cottage or Moorgate in working hours (or post if someone is happy to pay)?

can’t see a photo..!
i’ve had clarks sizing vary quite a bit - how are these as 9.5s go? run bigger or smaller?
-
• #8847
trying again...
They're true to size I think - I'm generally 9.5 and they fit my foot. I've high arches though and find them tight around the front of my foot at ankle height. If they were shoes, rather than boots they'd fit fine (if that makes sense).

very much makes sense as i think i’m afflicted with a similar foot shape, the (physical) pain is real…
can see the photo now, though

Does anyone know if Redwing chukka boots are true to size?

Mine seem pretty much so.
Score. £200 for some new Oxfords. Considering a local cobbler was trying to charge me the best of £110 to resole a ten year old pair even more so.
