Has anyone got an opinion on the Wu-Tang Netflix series?
I seem to remember @Stonehedge (possibly) really recommending it. Somebody did and I've been meaning to watch it since.

Amazing! I need to re-watch it

I thought the Wu Tang series was good!

There's a good modest mouse doc as well I think, plus slow century, the Pavement doc.
The best one I watched recently was the PJ Harvey one about the making of Hope Six Demolition Project.

Ah yeah, hatbeard not stonehedge.
We are very similar people. Its an easy mistake to make.
The only thing I have to say about Wu Tang is that after a gig in Northampton some time in the early 00s they invited Jana to a "private foam party" with the strict instruction of "no dudes". She didn't go. Can't imagine why.

@EB has covered a lot of them. If you've not seen them I'd add:
Don't Look Back (Bob Dylan)
The Last Waltz (The Band)
Sex & Drugs & RocknRoll (Ian Dury)
The Godmother of Rock and Roll (Sister Rosetta)and as someone else suggested as band adjacent:
This is Spinal Tap (my favourite film full stop)and I'd add
The Rutles
Head (the Monkees)
808 (history of the 808 drum machine doc) -

"God Said Give 'Em Drum Machines" -

D.O.A (A rite of passage) is brilliant too, forgot about that one

Yeah. Should probably add the Decline of Western Civilisation films to this list.
And We Were There To Be There - recent (ish) short doc about The Cramps / Mutants gig at the Napa State psychiatric hospital.

And a few more I've just remembered:
Finding Fela (Fela Kuti)
This Lee Perry doc on YouTube: https://youtu.be/njmTYnS3Z8M

Head was a real surprise. My parents took the piss out of it at the time, but it’s definitely a snapshot of a time and they definitely pinned their colours to the mast as part of the counterculture

On acid it seemed extremely important and had me questioning the nature of reality for a good few days (the whole inside/outside of the box thing).
In hindsight, that was just the acid!

Ha! Agreed. 'Chart Music?'. This is a nice short follow up:
been a good few years since i last mentioned this on here but apologies if you were already aware but my dad was in the childhood band with Lee Brilleaux that they formed from and is one of the talking heads in this documentary (rico). met Wilko at the premiere at BFI southbank but only for a few seconds as he was in great demand as you'd expect.
