You say that, but I had one. I suppose fun when it worked, but it rarely did.
To keep on theme..free flu jab today

I think you're showing off. You're not doing middle aged like the rest of us.

Been digging at the allotment most of the weekend to try and get plots winter ready
94 yr old father in law came over to remark how much work there still was to do
Comprehensively knackered
Need retirement so as there is actually time to do all this shit -

I’m all about the positive vibes, embrace your middle years. To be honest, it feels lately like Lufguss has all gone a bit mid-life crisis.

As long as you are suitably recompensed with veg then bask in the afterglow of good karma. Anti-inflammatories help too.

People say "embrace going bald and be confident with your new appearance"
Can't , won't , sob .
Why does my older brother still have a full head of hair?
Not fair
sulk
regression etc -
• #2433
I hear you - still not enjoying mine. Been balding since my mid-twenties (and you'd think another twenty would be enough time to get over it; nope), having had long hair in my teens. I liked my long hair. Don't like having to wear a hat in the cold. At least I don't get helmet hair now. But still...
Beard is an obvious compensation.

For sure, I didn't see that coming, but I guess it is only fair. In all honesty popping is kinda low impact so I'm more worried about what my skateboarding and winter cycling will do to my hips. A colleague actually broke his hip commuting just couple of years ago and it did not seem like a lot of fun.

Ah, a new pair of slippers. Bliss.
Except they’re not as comfy as my old ones. Grumble, grumble.
-
• #2439
And they will be supremely comfortable for the nanosecond before they decompose, the next new ones won't be as comfortable as they were.
Repeat.

I need varifocals. Or two pairs of glasses. Either way it's looking expensive.
-
• #2441
I have single focus reading glasses, occupational lenses for working, and a third pair which are varifocals for pottering around.
-
• #2442
I'm planning on keeping my usual pair for cycling but going to try varifocals for work and everything else.
-
• #2443
I've started wearing reading glasses on top of distance glasses so I can look at my phone and watch TV.

When I'm driving, I can either see where I'm going or see the Satnav, not both.
This recently led to me missing a turnoff on the M25, and subsequently getting stuck in a 3 hour standstill after the junction.

My varifocals arrived today, £66 from Selectspecs. Absolutely fine.

I've got prism lenses to deal with my BVD 😎

Big nose?

Big nose?
Not really big - no.

I’m definitely not stoned but this morning I looked at my ears and thought ‘I don’t remember you guys being so big?’
-

I used to get regular specs from Specsavers and they definitely weren't that cheap...
I'd drive that.
