Heard on the radio: Turning the sound down on music playing in the car so I can see better when reversing.
I do this.Back in the early 80s Rich Hall hosted a comedy show on cable TV in the US. He used to do segments like this and even amassed a dictionary of them -Sniglets.
That particular one was the definition of "discombebopulated"

Kidney stones can fuck off.

That's not at all unreasonable. It's likely not about seeing better and more about increasing concentration on the task at hand.

"The camping fields and toilets and food tents were gloriously relaxed, with quietly stylish people wallowing in the music and the site-wide aesthetic, which was earthy without the mungbeans, hippy without the terrible trousers, and radical without the droning egotism."
How does he know about my trousers?
Never heard of Optimo

And hearing the faint cracking sound as you nudge up against the car behind, indicating time for a sharp exit.

Caught myself saying "Monty Don always has nice coats" last night. What surprised me most was I had no recollection of putting Gardner's World on

Never heard of optimo? Have a dig around they have been going for years, did a great essential mix years ago which only this week got mentioned in a piece in the Guardian on the 100 most important BBC recordings. https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2022/oct/06/the-100-greatest-bbc-music-performances-ranked?fbclid=IwAR0_J61s-JlMov_2F4qH0UQWtCFteC712hHHYLaGLRiV-yxOnvrgBW3szIs

Parking by "feel" is how it's meant to be done, no?

The closest I've got to clubs in Scotland is standing outside one and the next day finding out it was Dave Angel and me missing a fucking oppurtunity.

I lead a very sheltered life.
Or, more accurately, I'm so swamped by music I don't have the capacity to recall artists or tracks.
Someone asked me if I'd heard of Tale of Us the other day and I said "no"
A few hours later I noticed I was playing a remix by them that I'd paid money for yet had no idea who they were.

Is that middle aged?

Over 60 is probably just 'Old', but I'm hanging on to my youth for dear life.

No point driving past the crematorium, just pull over and wait (I'm 61).

Me and my mate joined a popping dance class yesterday. Imagine two middle-aged blokes doing the "scarecrow" in a room full of what looked liked teenagers to us. I was worried about a creeper vibe, but it all went surprisingly well. My life goal is to learn by the time I'm 50 so it is now or never.

You'd be better off doing hip-op dancing

As I sit on my allotment eating yesterdays pizza I think to myself ‘this really is a good quality thermos flask’. Skip middle age and move straight to OAP.
Also cropping out tit sweat…

Following hot on the heals of my 60+ travel card bonus, I have recently inherited my father in laws old MG.
Vehicle Tax - not required
MOT - not requiredI have also discovered prescriptions are now free.
Growing old, while generally shit, has its compensations.

With the hydroelastic suspension?
Can't think of any way of writing this that doesn't go to the GC thread, but I'm enjoying listening to Radio 4 now (we just have an old, crappy car you can't sync your own music to). Fortunately, I rarely drive, and never during the morning Tory-rah-rah show or the 6.30 this-is-what-pensioners-think-comedy-is thing, but there's some really good current affairs stuff, and In Our Time and Women's Hour.
