Does your toddler prefer pour over or espresso?

Pour over. Obviously.

If anyone’s looking for a lighter roast, this is stunning. Absolutely incredible coffee.

Great little grinders for daily home filter this

I hate the internet. BRB dropping over £500 to make my first filter coffee. WTAF is wrong with people.

TBF they’re quite likely going to make far better coffee than if they spent the same on a home espresso setup.

Lol my home espresso set up consists of a £50 machine, an £80 grinder and a £10 set of scales and makes pretty legit espresso if I don’t say so myself.
But my real point is that you can make your first cup of filter pretty well with any kettle, a v60 and some beans bought and ground from a nice coffee shop for around £30, lol.

Perhaps they meant first with that technique.
Shameful if they don't have scales.

+1 to this
Also, complaining about people spending an unnecessarily large amount of money on getting into a hobby on LFGSS, lol

Not if the espresso maker is a Robot

Nah, legit first v60 made at home (confirmed in the comments).

Let’s not pretend people don’t get shredded on here for spending daft sums on their first bike.

Anyway, I’m just jealous and mostly skint.

I'm sure a newcomer to espresso can make some utter shit espresso with a manual lever machine
-
• #23246
Ah fair point!
I mean similarly, I wouldn't recommend a newcomer buy an £80 second hand Classic!
I do agree that it seems pretty overkill for a filter setup of course. It's actually kind of refreshing to see someone put a fair bit of effort (well, money) as opposed to espresso for their home setup. I'd be willing to bet they'll have a better (and for sure more consistent) experience with their filter setup than the average espresso newcomer.

You’re right but I’ll never find out for myself as I’m still happy with the Robot.

Crazy. I had looked for the original post to check, but couldn't find it.
An enviable set up. I have made some bad pour overs recently with Bodum's Chemex-style brewer. I don't like using it much and can't be bothered trying to fine-tune the process. Must be the lack of Stagg. Back on the shelf it goes.

I'm staying in Fulham for less than 24hrs, with a toddler and will require coffee...where is half decent?
