All clean and back together.
Now the little lights have fallen out of their holders.
Damn my stupid hands and sausage fingers

That stuff is in B&Q for £2.25 BTW.
I have only used food grade Citric Acid for descaling, not sure on the difference really.
Got a kilo sack off amazon for a tenner 2 years ago and I have not yet used it all -

Is there an easy way of working out how much to use? Little scoop, tea spoon?
-
• #23213
I use a couple of table spoons in 500ml water (this is for a filter machine)
Similar amounts in a kettle, and turn it on,.
You can see the limescale dissolving in the kettle.
If there is limescale still visible and no more action, add more citric acid.I am sure someone on here did a test on blocks of metal and did no damage to anything even at high concentrations (apocryphal: do not take my word for it)

Looks great! Well done for digging in.
Fwiw I've read a few people saying to avoid pure citric acid in Gaggias as the aluminium doesn't like it (or something).
I use puly caff as it's a mix of citric and tartaric acid

A legendary bit of freecycling that. Chapeu.

It deserves to get used, I’m not the man to give it the life it deserves.

If you're more into dark roasts you might find it a bit floral
-
• #23225
I actually prefer lighter roasts
Yep, for my I use Cafiza + big ol' tub o' citric acid.
Aaaaaand Enya stuck in my head again, thanks.
