  • Fuck knows how Van Dijk wasn't sent off

  • He’s wearing a red shirt?

  • oh sadio why did you leave
    he would have bagged today
and salah has done next to nothing since he got beat in the african cup of nations and knocked out of the world cup
wonder if bayern fancy a swap deal

the premier league ref in the commentary box said no red, he missed the ball and there was no malice, yellow card

good game though, lots of chances and good goalkeeping

  • Mega goal keeping!

I'm yet to see a Liverpool game this season where the reds look more up for it than the opposition.

  • the premier league ref in the commentary box said no red, he missed the ball and there was no malice, yellow card

I mean, it was a shit take where he says because it's goes from shin to foot it's fine. Malice or not is irrelevant, it's a dangerous tackle and the fact it didn't even go to VAR is even more egregious

  • Happy enough with that. Could have won it, could have lost it. First clean sheet, Pickford showing why he’ll always be miles ahead to nick pope, Coady excellent and even Maupay brining is something a bit different.

Tackle on Onana was really bad, any Everton player would have taken a red for it. Don’t understand why VAR didn’t get involved it’s such an easy thing to review.

  • Feel like today's result could define our season. Really worrying.

  • Did not see the Villa result coming at all

  • VAR is broken. How can they let play go and flag up in some situations, yet flag up early for others? It's killing the game. Great performance from the Villa though, fair play.

  • The newcastle goal getting ruled out today was completely appalling. I just don't understand how they interpreted it that way. Willock was about to score and was pushed out of the way by a guy that the ball then hit and went in the net. Either penalty and red card for denying a goal scoring opportunity or an own goal. Mitchell looked like he literally couldn't believe his luck with the call.

  • It was a terrible call. That you would look at one part of the play and ignore what lead up to it is crazy.

  • Ivan Toney is a baller, btw. Free kick was something else.

  • 5 goals and 2 assists in 6 games so far - decent statistics.

The free kick was great, but his third was really impressive too - there was still a lot to do but that finish was absolutely perfect. He's sharp.

  • It's going to take a long time for that squad to gel with so much turnover but Steve Cooper is obviously a quality manager.

Ipswich started last season with a similarly huge number of new arrivals but without a manager who actually had a plan for them all.

This season is very different so far.

  • Toney was ice cold. All 3 goals were just perfectly taken. Zero doubt or hesitation. That chip from the edge of the penalty box 🤤

Was the Leeds CB attempting a Cruijff turn for Brentford’s 5th goal?

West Ham were more than unlucky to lose against us. I guess it was one of those cases where bad refereeing decisions even themselves out over the course of the season.

  • It was interesting to see how much praise Michael Oliver got for sticking to his guns after watching the pitchside monitor - when the decision in the Chelsea game seemed even easier to make (I'm still not sure Oliver's decision was right; the Chelsea one was obviously wrong).

I wonder if the Mendy incident had happened the following week, with the referee having seen someone else do it first, whether he'd have been emboldened to stick with his original decision.

  • Ivan Tony's third goal...so good.

  • So Aston villa denied a goal Vs Chelsea and gifted one Vs Arsenal... Seems like these things sort themselves out over the season, just like they mostly used to before VAR!

  • Yep - was expecting a good thrashing. Maybe Gerrard us finally working something out.
Gutted to be robbed by a shit ref.

  • Jury very much still out for me as Gerrard, despite spending a ton of money, has a worse record than Tactics Tim Sherwood

  • Chelsea? City, no? Call against Villa yesterday was ridiculous but no one can say 100% they were denied a goal because everyone bar coutinho stopped playing after whistle went. No idea what the linesman was looking at there.

  • Lot of forumenger sides down in the shit already 😬

  • no one can say 100% they were denied a goal because everyone bar coutinho stopped playing

Couldn't agree more, its showing that var is plenty of negative for no positive.

  • On 63 minutes I thought there's plenty of evidence that Arsenal will finish above man u. Couple of chancery opportunities and that's that...

Reminds me of playing reading et al.

  • If this is what happens when Arsenal play Man U, imagine what’ll happen when they play a good team.
