Decathlon returns.
I cant see anything on their website regarding returning sale/discounted items. They seem very happy to give refunds on returned items. I'm asking because some of the things I'd like to try are not in stock in my local so I cant feel them or try them on, I know its not the best way to try before you buy...
To me, it seems they will refund you, all tags etc. present. Although I haven't had the same luck at, say, Flannels during a sale. (anyone want a weird helmut lang shirt?? lol)
The items are cheap enough and I may end up just keeping them all but, you know, options.

Does anyone have any recommendations on places or restaurants to visit or things to do in Bristol and London for a Dubliner? I'm going to be spending a few days in each with my girlfriend who's never been, thought here might be a good place for suggestions from some locals.
I think so far we've just got the natural history museum, the tower bridge walkway and maybe the London eye as maybes in London.

Yes, those are three things to avoid, unless you love crowds of foreign tourists. Hard to say which of the less obvious sites to recommend without having an idea of your interests.

The Tate modern is always an interesting one -

I let off what could be the nastiest fart I've ever done inside one of the pods on the London eye, so bear in mind that you have to go on that thing with people like me.

I've been on it twice when visiting London as a kid, both times it fully steamed up before we got half way up.

Depends what you're into but Natural History Museum, Science Museum and V&A are all basically next to each other.
The cable car is cheaper than the eye but don't go in rush hour (it's always quiet but it goes faster, apparently) and you might not have anything else to do in the area unless you fancy attaching it to a sightsee of the Olympic park or something. And you can't really see central London from it. You can get to/from the North Greenwich end by Clipper boat though which can be a fun and cheap way to see the city.

Green park is good if you want to kill a swan.

Finally a reason to visit London again.

Bristol
Walk across the suspension bridge or go up Cabot tower for decent views, loads of craft beer tap rooms if that's your thing, I think a couple in the centre now or more working/ industrial ones all around St Phillips or Hyde&Co. for a swanky cocktail, G.bros in Easton for great pizza. It's a while since I was there so I'm fairly out of the loop though.

Pride of Spitalfields for a proper 1970's pint and a salt beef sandwich, then continue down Brick Lane stopping off at Hanbury Street to pick up a draw from the "newsagents" and onto the bombed-out church/Altab-Ali Park to skin-up and chat with the locals.
You then have the option of looking at tits for a quid in the Nags Head or arty tits for free at the Whitechapel Gallery and having worked-up an appetite, Lahore 1 & 2 on Commercial Road await.
I think the Bar Locks has shut now, but you can probably get a wank under the table nearby, should you still have time on your hands (so to speak).

Does it need to be train reachable? There some great walking around Westerham way.
I see alot of people walking down the Darenth valley by Shoreham station when I cycle past but never explored myself.
Petts/Hawkswood as well.

Me neither, not since the early Nineties.
I did make it to the Spitters earlier this year and it was exactly as I remembered it, despite having been firebombed during the interim!

Suppose I wanted to extend my wi-fi provision to an "out-building" the furthest dimensions of which are around 20 meters 'as the crow flies' from the hub. How would I do that?
-
• #114120
Does the outbuilding have power?
-
• #114121
yes it does...currently the wi-fi reaches through the main house to about 6 feet outside the back door before music streaming etc starts to break up

Not 100% sure but distance selling regulations might be in your favour.
Consumer protection (distance selling) regulation, might be worth a read (it won't be, legislation is dull AF)

If I have a frame with a short head tube & threaded headset, and threaded forks with a very long steerer tube, what will happen if I cut off the threaded section of the forks, swap the top of the headset and run it threadless?
Will I die?
Is there some sort of qualitative difference between the steerer of a threaded and threadless fork?

It’s fine, threaded fork steerers usually have a thicker wall.. it’s the other way round it’s not recommended to do (cutting thread into a threadless steerer)
