yep, that's probably doable, not sure about the availability of those.
personnally as soon as i use a bb30 frame, i put a praxis adapter for 24mm spindles :)

Yes I confirm you can do that, I've done it with a 120+mm axle (cant remember exactly, laybe 127) and specialité ta bsa30 cup
But be careful. Some axle are machined with two 30mm "seat" and the rest of the axle is something like 29mm (to facilitate the insertion of the axle). But the results is that the axle seat positon doesnt match you bb bearing position
By chance i've found a 30mm hollowgram "plain" axle but I dont know where he is from
If it's not clear I can draw something

to be honest it's mostly Cannondale and Specialized's fault... the industry would have happily done without bb30

That‘s a very helpful explanation, merci beaucoup!
Progress-wise no update yet, except for the financial aspect meaning that after an intense re-sale hustle I am happy to confirm that eventually I got both framesets for free 📈📈📈

Do you guys know this kind of situation:
You have a plan at hand and then - you are suddenly doing something completely off?
Well… see below 😅😅😛

Its a 2019 SL6 which has seen only a little more than 1,000kms
- Sz 54
- 7.1 or .2 kgs
- Full mechanical Ultegra 8000 w/ direct mount
- S-works carbon saddle and bars (400mm)
- Assioma uno
- Roval cl50
- 0 offset seat post
- Penis extension aka ceramicspeed OPWS
Except for the OPWS (anyone interested?) and some minor details (tyres, tubes, cages) I would have built it pretty much exactly like this
Only thing i was able to do so far is put the correct sticker on the SS
- Sz 54

After an early dial-in ride, I realised that I need to do the following tweaks to bring this bike from 95 to 100% as to my requirements:
- change saddle (butt says no)
- 110/120mm stem w/ 12 deg
- Replace OPWS with regular cage
- Buy spoon mount for garmin
- Throw those garbage sworks tyres in the bin
While my allez was a 56 I went for the 54 SL6 which means I have a lil bit more flexibility for longer stems without feeling too stretched
Many scoble bricks to come

In some funny twist of fate I’ve just brought one of these too! Albeit discs, and a black paint job with white decals - the ying to your yang?
Will get some photos when it’s built up!
-
• #365
Sounds good, please do!
Disc was/is out of the budget I am willing to pay for a modern road bike so I went for the above
But no hate lol ;-)
(But disc brakes are dead, jfyi 😈)

Purple emoji leading to my next project:
1995 Purple/black fade M900
I only had originally purchased the frameset together with some parts but without fork and wheels only for transferring some parts to my red M800 comp
But then i put on the wheels (Mavic with Sachs Hubs) from my red M800 comp
PLUS
I luckily was able to organise a pepperoni fork with the identical purple/black fade paint job and steerer for an ok-ish price 🤝
So decided to build this up!

Many thanks!
I am also pretty confident that it will look great in cleaned state in the sunlight
Wheelset (mavic on sachs) sorted in the meantime
PS these looked Really shite, in particular the brake tracks
Using sonax polish paste and water for this result

Minor improvements in the sense of slowly cutting the steerer
Switched the classic s-works 100/-6 stem for an SL7 110/-12
Bars/STI still not yet re-positioned 👋🏻

STIs sorted (guess which lever was the not-so-ideal setup) and Challenge Strada mounted
Hope bar/STI angle is approved shivers
Stradas feel very nice in the hands; a bit like vittoria corsa 2.0 graphene
(And yes, the saddle is level)
Last thing to do is test the 120mm stem but then this should be it ♥️
Plus taking acceptable photos ofc

Haha love the campagyolo
White frame with all black build kit looks great and works well with the tan walls.
Interested to hear how you get on with the zero offset seat post. If you decide to go to a set-back post, I’d maybe be keen to try it if you ever sell it.
Is there no way to use the integrated top cap with the sl7 stem?
-
• #375
Many thanks mate 🙏🏼
Is the zero setback hard to find? Because it came from the previous owner. I bought a backup 20mm because with the allez, finding seatposts was really a serious PITA
I ordered the sl7 spacer set for 30€ only to find out after 2 hrs research that you need a special top cap, which is another 5 (and which is not available in any german shop)
Decided that this is a big joke and now i will go as you see (with a 5mm spacer on top) and I think I can live with this compromise
I will never understand how you make specific Accessoires for your products and then just stop selling them.
Its the same as with the zero setback allez seatpost which took me 2 years to track down lol
Thanks all for the involvement
Then I will need to buy two cranks I guess. Love bike industry standards 👨❤️💋👨
