Do you think they’ll look to control it given there is only a minute between 2nd and 7th? Personally I think I’d mark Pog, he’s still the only one I can see overturning the deficit and taking time. Ineos pose a potential threat given they have two riders in the mix.
I think it’ll be tense even if nothing happens.

The yellow jersey comes with unwritten responsibilities, one of which is that the leader's team controls the race. They could not do it, but it could backfire on them.
The chances of the break taking the stage win today are very high, so anyone who wants a stage win will go in the break. That will include riders who are relatively close on GC, i.e. someone like Vlasov, so JV won't want to let them back into the GC race so will keep the gap manageable.
I agree with @Fox - JV’s scorched earth strategy paid off yesterday. But some of the tactical decisions didn’t make a lot of sense at the time.
Anyway, it’ll be interesting to see if they pay for their efforts today. They went all in yesterday and today they’ve got the responsibility to control the race. The opening hour is going to be intense.
