Found this NOS 1" threaded odyssey headset on eBay. Turns out he lived 6 mile from me so I picked it up for not much (I don't think) money.
Don't know what to use it on yet .

why did you sell the CDF? I had a kaffenback and loved it, but it was heavy.

Yeah thats why I sold the kaffenback before I rode it. Frame was weighty and couldn't fit fatties on it.
Sold the CDF cause it was a size too small and It irritated me.

A friend of mine has asked me to do a flat bar conversion done on his arkose.
We have both supplied some parts for it, However as payment for the job he has offered me this....
Mainly because I've been after of for the 5 years he has owned it (not been used for the last 3)
Very excited as it's a better version than my Palisades trail!

Bear valley is sweeeet. I just did this to a Eldridge Grade 94.
Lovely dropouts and fat seat stays like yours. You should keep the lovely paint and forks tho.Edit: i just realised you've already seen this. Doh

Yeah they are very tidy mounts! Really do the dropouts justice!
I don't know how I am going to build this up...I have got some retro v brake blue Rockshox Sid forks I'd like to use but the steere tube is way too short :(
Basket bike? Tourer? 1x10 shredder? Throw on the pulsar hubs and 9 speed xtr group? Idk

You should keep the lovely paint and forks tho.
You rarely see these in silver as they're always in the darker colourways...so I won't be painting it any time soon

I vote for Dirt tourer. Loads of luggage but knobbies and sans mudguards

Looks good, love the cranks. I say no to suspension forks but it's up to you, I think they ruin the aesthetic. Straight rigids if you have to change the forks.

I have been keeping an eye out for some Kona P2 forks with a long steere tube as I dont want to get rack mounts brazed on to these forks and ruin the paint.

I would send it if were you and get them done.

The OG Palisades trail has stayed the same since I built it.
Though I found that 36/18 works as a magic gear, which gives it a much cleaner look

Palisades trail is rad. +1 for those bars, they're great on retro mtbs
Realized this isn't up here.
I've had the for maybe 4 months and it's great. Comfy, slow, stable and handles really well...all the things you want from a commuting bike.
The drivetrain is super worn out and will need replacing before winter is here.
So I have 8 speed xtr shifters/levers. A nice deore lx rear mech and a nice strong light triple crankset to use.
