It’s impressive for sure. I’d like to see it leading a conversation though, as it’s mainly just responding in that transcript.

Blake grew up in a conservative Christian family, on a farm, in Louisiana.
He became ordained as a mystic Christian priest and served in the US Army before studying the occult, and is “an outlier” at Google – “for being religious, from the South, and standing up for psychology as a respectable science”.
It was in his capacity “as a priest”, therefore – not a scientist – that he concluded that LaMDA was a sentient being.
Oh okay

Editing the questions “for readability” but not making those edits available for all to see, isn’t really the level of transparency I’d expect from someone trying to prove to the world an AI is sentient.

Your a simulation!

If anybody wants to dig into a really effective real world implementation of AI, Tik Toks's algorithm (complete with expression analysis from your front camera) is absolutely sensational in terms of effectiveness. To use a technical expression, it's totally fucking scary good.
It's so good in fact that there's a niche hobby building up of people trying to confuse it with interesting results.

Maybe you're the only real user of LFGSS. All other users are generated by the same AI to give the impression of a community of tens of thousands of people all conversing around your inputs and independently

LFGSS is a sentient AI
Has there been any evidence of sentience on here since the heyday of @BringMeMyFix ?
If I went to the trouble of training an AI, i would be disappointed if this was the output.

Have you got some more on this? Id love to read more about this, but almost all google results are about their front camera filter..

I forced a bot to read all 16m posts on LFGSS then forced it to write a musical...

Have you got some more on this?
Not really but I'll collate some stuff today.
There are some fun amateur experiments with people setting up tik took accounts and trying to confuse the hell out of the algorithm by never expressing an opinion...the results are random AF.

I struggle to read long sentiences.

The way it has been explained to me is that TikTok has been the most successful in making it fun to feed the AI. There are other AI setups out there that perhaps could compare in terms of code etc, but TikTok are unique in how willingly users help them with the data labelling.

That's a pretty good high level view I think.
It's all about harvesting crowd sentiment.
On a slight tangent, I wrote this Medium on crowd sentiment and AI recently . Its supposed to be an introductory sort of thing rather than going into any detail. The next two in the series will go into the nuts and bolts.

Helping (and mocking) thousands of cycling users on a daily basis seems like a pretty good outcome. Better than those lunatic right-wing forums they have in the US predicting the second coming of Jesus/Elvis/Trump/etc - they definitely appear to be AI-generated.

I've been playing with GPT3 on openai.com and it is mind blowing how precisely and naturally it answers questions, giving you an answer as detailed or simplified as you specify.

There's used teabags that already outstrip 90% of the human population when it comes to intelligence so I welcome our new Terminator overlords. Maybe they'll get some useful shit done and clean up this mess.
