  • My 90s was filled with magnolia walls. Or the palest of green or pink. Dulux Apple White is one I remember. Maybe that was 80s. Anyway, I've gone for good strong colours in my place partly as a reaction to excessive Magnolia.

  • Okay then fam - I’ve been looking at these wardrobes since I painted them horrible horrible grey 6 yrs ago - the room layout / windows on the left and rad/door on right means we pretty much have to have the bed facing them. My thinking is to take the doors off and use the frame to fit birch ply doors on flush hinges over - or maybe sliding ? But - birch is expensive and heavy and it’s probably at the top end of my diy tekkers - any other thoughts ? Sliding Poly carbonate on timber frames was an idea. Some mirror would be good on the right (for dressing not pervy biz!) maybe. Also thought of a change in materials - so top storage doors in different - to give it a bit of relief / make it less of a massive wall. Also like vertical panelling . Thoughts ? Usual crew obvs - I’m thinking @dbr is my guy to tell me what’s hip and achievable !?

  • Black handles/door knobs or some kind of bright brass/gold would be a cheapish change

  • Ok wild card, but you've got nothing to lose if you are thinking of replacing totally (it may take longer but be easier) - rip off the beading, fill and sand and add some nice handles?

  • this was just about to be my suggestion too!

  • Hm, regarding the 'massive' wall maybe get it all mixing, a mirror door on the right, maybe the left side or middle side even without doors and only the frame, like that every panel is different?

  • Go full forum. Remove mouldings, apply adhesive backed cork.

  • I've got loads of spare from my floor if you go this route....😉

  • Bravo - i'm sure I'll be cursing myself in soon for not doing this when we moved in.

  • Could just do something like this with leds?

  • Could do - i'd have to take all them off to trim edges as well - none of them close properly. But yes okay its a sensible suggestion ;-)

  • dude - did you hack my pinterest?

  • What should I use to prime moisture resistant MDF before I can paint it with water based bathroom wall paint?

  • Water based MDF primer

  • What should I use to seal the 18mm birch plywood doors in my under sink cupboard?

Same question for the wardrobe doors too please

  • simple enough, thanks!

  • how do I make my parents love me?

  • More loft design tweaking, stripping a couple of bits out and making some bits simpler, think I have nearly solved all the things I hate about loft conversions.

@Sheppz are we in business yet?
