Please not uPVC please not uPVC.

drumroll please...
They're in, and they're aluminium :) 2.4x2.4ish, came in at a shade under 2k
Here's how things are looking at the mo - hopefully only a week or two away from being able to start moving stuff in (renting around the corner until the end of July, though will move sooner if we can).

All of upstairs, the stair treads, hallway, and living room have had their first round of sanding - so glad i didn't try this myself, given it's taking a pro 6-7 days to do the whole house.
need to insulate under the dining room (the first photo) and get those boards back down tomorrow.Plasterers finished on tuesday, hence the rough mist coat in the photos.
Joiner coming to sort the kitchen monday or tuesday, plumbers back for the last few rads sometime soon (?), Tony the sander back wednesday, and I'll try to do the light fittings/replacing the sockets (kitchen will have matchy 'brushed slate' ones) and do the final light fittings. -

Nice one! You're getting there! Where did you get the bifolds from? I need a 2,090x2,090 to replace a window and stable door combo. Price sounds reasonable for aluminum

The manufacturer is 'Alutech', I got them through a local windows/doors company that the builder who did the structural stuff always uses - I was fearing up to 3k or so given the non-standard/extra height, so very happy with the price.
Edit: got the site wrong, it's slideANDfold that's been recommended here, not slideORfold (though no experience of them).

Thank you I'll keep that in mind when talking to the builder. I was mainly looking at Slideandfold to date and looks to be more £££ than Alutech.
Did you go 2 panels or 3? Looks like 2 in the picture

The grain lineup on those top cabinets is very pleasing. Good craftsperson.
What an improvement. Bet it's wonderful coming down in the morning to make coffee now.

Nice splashback - what is it?

These tiles - got them from YourTiles but out of stock now.
Always liked terrazzo, but not the price, and also not mad keen on ‘cheap stuff made to look like expensive stuff’* so liked how these didn’t try to be ‘real’ marble etc.
*please don’t come to my house to see how many times I break this rule.

Yeah, that was a key request for the bigger cupboard. Really pleased with it. Functional design wise it's pretty awful, you can't access the left hand side without using a little step thing...:)
Yeah man, still at the stage of standing in it and just looking around, can't believe the improvement its made to general vibes at home.

Don't knock 90s revival. The backlash against grey, green or blue walls is gaining momentum every day.
This is - genuinely - the new colour of our living room.

That's quite a nice colour :). I guess you don't plan on running out of power sockets....

Our builder is on site from Monday to begin stripping out. Very excited.
For 90s points we are going for cream walls, lino floor, and oak kitchen.

Number 24 is a good colour match

is this the house you just completed on?
if so, props on the time management and getting folks out to start so quickly! -

Okay this is brilliant and super kudos for going for such colour, I did the same to our small room, was scary how dark the green is when tested but now feel warm.

I was quite pleased with that! Even better the builder lives in the same place, and has done 4 or 5 of the flats, so knows the pitfalls.
-
• #3446
That's gorgeous. I wanted to go really dark but the other half wasn't ok with it.

Yeah it took some convincing, I “let” my partner to have final choice on the bedroom and sitting room, so was able to go for Duck Green.
Now they wanted the sitting room to the colour I originally chosen!

have you done anything with the concrete hearth/fireplace bit?
we’ve got a few rooms with these in and whilst I think we’ll tile the ones downstairs, not sure what about upstairs… paint them perhaps?
-
• #3449
One will be tiled, other a big slate but that one gonna be filled with cement and painted black

Oh yeah, insulated the floor again, now the flat have the kitchen, bathroom, sitting room, bedroom and that room done, only left to do is the hallway before the winter to try and save money on heating.
It’s now cool in the summer and lukewarm (before turning on heating) in the winter.
