Fingers crossed I can get to lbs today, get the headset cups fitted, and steerer chopped.

Got everything I need now, derailleur shim, jockey wheels, cables, tubeless valves, and bar tape. Just need the lbs to work their magic on the headset and steerer and I'm good to go, roll on Saturday afternoon.

Bottom bracket has stopped play. Axle is a bit too short, chainrings are a little too close to the stay for comfort. Ah well will bolt on what I can and await delivery next week.
Didn't want to ride the fuckin thing anyway!

Nice little ride this morning, a 30 mile hilly affair with tea n cake at Wincle brewery.
Should have kept riding, this is turning into rather a frustrating build, having to break the file out (for the second time), but it'll get there so no harm done.
Progress so far (seat post is just a place holder/workstand clamping area).

I like them too, wasn't sure at first, but they seem to work.
Frustrating it certainly is, just little annoyances, too thick powder coat on the dropouts, so the rear wheel wouldn't go in, had to file them, and they've coated the downtube shifter bosses, so the shifters won't go on, so when I get it back from having the rear wheel sorted, I'll need to file those.

That does seem like quite an oversight, given they would have masked the head tube logo and the tops of the seat stays (which look great).

Yeah, considering it's Aurum you would have thought it would have been a given, but, first world problems n all that.

Decided to use my friction shifters on this build (was saving them for a future project).
Also had a go at putting a sticker on, not perfectly straight, but not far off.

What are the friction shifters? I have a feeling your DA ones would look better once you've sourced the washer

It's getting there. Not arsed about photos til I get my silver seat post fitted (could be here next week some time).
No mudguards with the 48mm tyres, not enough room, I think I may leave it without, and use Winston 1 when it's wet, I have been looking around for 42mm tyres that could allow mudguards to squeeze in, but not sure yet.
Bag wise, I'm gonna put a stiffener in my Carradice audax and run a minimal front rack (eventually).
Shifters are Dia compe ene 11 speed, the washer for the Shimano shifter is on it's way, but first ride I'm gonna leave the friction shifters on and see how they go.

Apart from the seat post, couple of little bits to finish off, need to re-wrap one side of the bars (needs to be a bit tighter), and apply some frame protection tape where the cables rub, other than that it's pretty much done.

Really cool outcome. I love the high profile rims with fat black tyres and overall the classy silver finishing bits. Silver is the new black.
The Frame stickers are a really detail to it as well.

@Oddo , cheers pal, once it's fully built up I'll take some pics of the details, with an actual camera, and maybe in a better location than my dining room or back yard.
@Psmith ,thank you, I like it, erm, it's not that different, smaller wheel size being the obvious difference (650b rather than 700), and the mid fork eyelets for a rack. I like projects, so one bike is never enough for me, and bikes are really the only hobby/expense I have, so why not?

why not indeed? there is no better reason

People who have really sharply defined reasons for building a new bike and spend ages optimising them for a use case always seem to end up selling them in 6 months time. People who just go with their gut seem to treasure their rides indefinitely.
