  • Went to pick some jeans up from Anglo Italian yesterday and tried on this barn coat - it’s super nice and some lovely detailing. Will have to see if Santa pops it under the tree for me this Christmas

  • Very nice. Although I watched the jacket episode of Seinfeld last night and have a similar price reaction.

  • Apparently based on an awkward evening with Richard Yates, one of my favourite authors. I had no idea there was any connection between him and Larry David until just now, wild.

Edit: yeah blimey, that's a lot of cash for a coat! Nice though.

  • I have sticker shock on every single thing I see come out of Anglo-Italian. I've never touched any of their stuff, but why is it so cashishe? I think for someone charging that much, they need to be way more transparent about their manufacturing and cloth used. Jake came from The Armoury, so he obviously knows how stuff can be done. Is their site light on info cause they want you to visit their store?

Maybe this is just me but I'm not gonna spend a grand+ on a sports coat if I don't even know what mill the cloth came from. And it shouldn't be up to the consumer to ask. Just gimme the info up front! This isn't supposed to be Anglo-Italian bashing - just don't get why they don't publish that kind of information.

  • HashPounds?

  • Thinking about ordering a shirt or two as Christmas presents. Think they’ll reach Sweden in time? What about customs etc, will that be added to the price?

  • So where can I shop to look like George Harrison 1969?

  • Go to the store next time you are in London. The stuff speaks for itself, but I am sure they will happily talk you through the supply chain.

  • True story. That pink roll neck is impeccable.

  • I think you need a Mal in your life to pop out and get a range of bow ties, or a selection of plain black shoes...

And to be able to just park all day long your Mercedes grosser outside the office in central London.

  • Erm, thoughts on this Drakes collab?

To me it looks like they have perfectly recreated a fleece off a market from the 90s, but they want £695 for it.

  • That is driect from daves Market stall if your lucky he will give you a couple of quid off the spliffy jeans if you buy them both. So you have 2 quid to get a bag of broken Busicits or dreamscape tape.

  • spliffy jeans

    😂

Maybe they forgot the decimal point and it is meant to be £6.95?

  • The ALD collab they did 3 years ago was great - some of my favourite jumpers are from that. But pricing has gone mad and it mostly always hits the sample sales so 🤷‍♂️

  • From a former insider-knowledge POV, it's almost all about that Drakes and their whole modern Ivy take on things, although they are a bit toppy. Private White is glorious too, but also a little heavy onj the old sky rocket

  • not spent any money on clothes in two years really - tempted to have a blow out on the acne sale rn tho. know their stuff is #spenny but I've got a couple of things (denim jacket, scarf) and they've worn very well (probably mostly down to me taking good care of them, given the price.)

  • i had a pea coat from them made of british millerain fabric.
pain in the arse to clean, had to sew all the buttons back on and it wore through on the cuffs/hem after a years use.
not buying anything from private white again.

as an aside do not search for them on ebay using a work computer, came up with lots of worn knickers/jock-straps.

  • I’ll be doing a fair bit of travelling this year and so decided I needed a nice ‘tracksuit’ - until I can afford a loro piana cashmere number I decided to test out the Sunspel loopback and the John Lewis cashmere in the sales. Is there any other options I should be considering?

  • I hear all the #letiquette kids are on Camber USA

  • Sorry to shoot the idea down but really? Why not get a pair of comfy but presentable trousers and a nice wool jumper? I really struggle with track pants and the obligatory little penis tent you get in the crotch.

I mean this outfit will be super comfy and still look strong

  • Cos had a decent looking cashmere tracksuit for the start up ceo look. I really like wearing a ‘suit’ of matching top and trousers so I hope this style evolves.

  • I agree with @kboy 's suggestion of trousers and jumpers - I've heard good things about Gramicci trousers - https://gramicci.co.uk/collections/g-pants

lots of mates are raving about them being the most comfortable thing etc etc...
