If it's 12V, yes. Otherwise you'll need some kind of 12V regulator.

I have one of those, they're good!
Yet I guess a bit big for a kid (not only the length / overall size, but it would be quite loose around the neck / hood would be too big etc.)

I never actuall got one of these, so can't vouch for them personally, but I remember someone recommending these:
