‘ Public, community or third sector organisations are also eligible provided they are legally constituted, have a governing body, a democratically elected management committee and a governing document that has been formally adopted. ’ so basically any properly organised clubs or groups as well.
Sole traders can also apply
Also pretty certain Scotland already has (or has had) a 100% equivalent grant in place.
The main goal of this grant is to try and support the government’s (formally terribly named Green Mile) initiative that prevents the last mile of any delivery being made by a van or car as they’ve calculated this minor change would have a huge impact. This is why it’s focusing on businesses and organisations rather than individuals.
Rather than moan it doesn’t currently support your needs, why not see if you can encourage your local businesses to get involved, if this has a good uptake then the government might follow through with their eBike grant they’ve been muttering about for a while which would be available for everyone

I read it as a maximum grant value of £2.5k. I.e. if you bought a cargo bike up to £6.25k you would still get 40% off.
I think you may be right, though the wording seems ambiguous (to me):
"Grant funding will be 40% of the gross cost (total amount including VAT) of each ecargo bike, up to a maximum of £2,500 for two-wheel models and £4,500 for three-wheel models." -

I don't think that's ambiguous. Funding will be...a maximum of £2,500.
-

Could be better worded but I'm pretty sure that's what they mean

excellent!

Looks like only £400k available on that fund, quite small really. The scottish ones the last few years have been bigger than that, and only for Scotland which is all of about 4m folks, not the 50m of England
Any of these schemes are a help though, gets a number of vans off the road at their worst location (urban areas), gets more cargo's in the world, more people see cargo's as a viable = more people get cargo's. Win.

Am I right in thinking that a business wouldn't be paying vat anyway so that grant is actually equivalent to 60% off RRP if you were to buy through a business?
-

I should have set up a business.

This looks great - Benno Boost, right?
Just checked them online and they look great - out of my budget though!

You still pay vat on purchases, but offset against some other costs going the other way, a sort of a benefit, but your still paying it.
Think it's only new build house builders that can pay out all year long then claim pretty much all of it back, still boggles how much new housing is priced at vs quality, esp when you factor in they are getting vat off all inputs to the build! -

It genuinely is great, I’m just getting excited about a bullitt... in reality we should just keep this
-
• #7739
How much are you looking for it? Also I assume you are based in London? They don’t have a massive wheelbase, right? So whacking it on a train wouldn’t be unthinkable?
-

£4500, I’m in somerset. Have a van; am in bracknell on the 11th November for the evening.
Train is doable.
It’s shorter than my mountain bike

If you're feeling cargo-curious, A Different Gear hire out some of their bikes. They stock Bennos too.

Oh nice. I’m currently waging a pro-cargo psy-op on my partner, reckon a try-before-you-buy hire arrangement would be just the ticket for sealing the deal. Cheers!

Rear rack recommendations for an Urban Arrow?
Obviously they produce their own but wondering if anything else will fit?

I've got a conversion lined up with a
BBS02 C965 kit + 52V15A batteryI'd thought I might be getting a tongsheng and I'd got used to the idea of its torque sensor.
So.
Should I stick with the tongsheng ?
And is that battery overkill? -
• #7745
Cant help sorry, interested though why you'd want to swap for something different?

Hi All
I have an Omnium Mini - I'd like a collapsible bag I can leave on the rack that my son can sit on when I do the school run, but can also be popped up to get milk etc on a shopping run.
Any ideas?
Up to 4.5k for an e trike
