My colleague got back 10 mins ago and said 5-10 mins

Cheers, I'll see if they still have any fuel later today.

Woodford?

It is too.

Super Unleaded
I reckon its worth asking on pistonheads if anywhere has it available.
I can't imagine anywhere will stock it until a good two weeks after this has all passed.

I've found that it's more available that normal unleaded as it's a premium £ and the garages can jack up even more margin. Managed to fill the motorbike twice in the last week; both times with premium as normal wasn't available.

Well, WBAC Penge would give me £28,780 for the E63 (I'm guessing I'd have to wash it first).
What electric car can I then purchase that has a range of 400 miles, 550 bhp/720Nm, and enough room in the back for a large wardrobe?
-
• #67434
That’s not its current range though, is it? Would it make it to Penge?
The local garage has LPG and nothing else. I might go and buy some just for smug points.

Ear-wigging at the Tesco filling station when I was paying for my fuel, they were running low on 95 but still had lots of Momentum 99 left. Anecdata agrees.

Think the DMF is shitting it on the e46, funny noise with clutch pedal half depressed, and a bit of judder when pulling away.
On a scale of 1-fuck that, how bad would it be to try and replace on a driveway? And is it doable in a day?
-
• #67438
Any noise when in neutral and clutch up, and any change when the clutch is depressed?
Any videos on doing the clutch on youtube?

Diesel though, safe as houses :p

So who remembers group S rally cars? If you don't, I don't blame you. Group S was to go on from group B. From 200 homologated examples to be built only 10 homologated examples had to be built. The group was cancelled when group B was cancelled.
Fiat created the Lancia Experimental Composite Vehicle 2. Based on the 037 (no got the wrong it based on the delta S4). The 1.8 twin turbo engine had exhaust and inlets on both sides of the head. So each of the twin turbos could feed each side of the single head.

In one of the recent Ken Block videos, now he's sponsored by Audi, he drives their (de-tuned) S1 Evo and their Group S car back to back
-

All the group B cars were nuts, Metro 6R4 stands out as one of the silliest.
From memory it was cancelled due to safety concerns?
-
• #67443
I just can't warm to Ken Block.
Jonathan Tadpole on the other hand...he gives the Audi a good go.
He drove a Loeb Xsara as well recently.

Toivonen and his co driver died is Corsica IIRC.
Edit: binned it off a corner into a massive drop according to google.

So rad. RS200 vibes.
Toyota 222d was another group S that looked similar. Probably my absolute favour car aesthetic.

Used Tesla Model S with shooting brake conversion?
-
• #67447
Well.
I called the camper conversion place at just past 9 yesterday morning, they said they'd update me shortly (but shortly wasn't defined) on when to expect delivery of the van. Crickets.
I admit, I'm wondering if I fell between the cracks and they've sold "my" van to someone else, and are trying to work out how to tell me. Or, it takes 48 hours+ to login to the VW dealer system, I honestly don't know.
I do know that this uncertainty isn't quite what I wanted.
Right now I'm tempted to WBAC the E63 and then buy a used VW Transporter and an EV run-around.

Didn't know that Audi officially built a group S car. By officially the rally team built the car with NO permission or knowledge. Though the Audi was a group B development, to make the quattro mid engined to beat the other mid engined 205 and S4. When Audi/vw people learnt about the quattro the project was ended.
Thought this was a museum car but seem to be used occasionally ;)But then I knew about (and seen) the Skoda Group S development LR. Which sort of ended as VW were shown what skoda could do. As I mentioned before my friend has a group B skoda 130LR and there are some great stories about that.

All the cars were silly.
Loved how lancia S4 had two massive turbos and lacked low down power...so what did lancia do....add a supercharger.
The 6R4 is a great vehicle, hand built around the roll cage. I know I say this alot but if you see a real one look at the a posts and how the roll cage goes in the a post. Lots of lovely touches that you don't notice till pointed out.

If you look at videos of the time you see people barely getting out of the road while cars just miss them. The rally of Portugal crash also played a bigger part, as avoiding people on the road the RS200 crashed in to the crowd.
Now this maybe taken the wrong way, but racing/rallying drivers die or get seriously injured. It is a fact of the profession. People have a morbid fascination, if you watch the film Grand Prix at the end when Sarti is killed and his mistress reaction of that is what the people come to see.
1970s style elf and safety there - could have blown up the whole tube station!
Looking again the container is empty whilst at the tube station - as you were...
