  • Local OCG meetup.

  • Mother of God

  • It’s where we coordinate the sheep rustling and hare coursing.

  • It’s from a place that make custom campers from new VW vans. I just expected a bit more communication than the absolutely nothing that has been the case.

In other news there’s no petrol round me still- tried Shell, Esso, BP and Sainsbury. Is Tesco a better bet or is it luck of the draw?

  • What’s the forum recommended ulez compliant runaround?
Budget circa £2k will be doing a 50mi round trip up and down the m11 daily. No need to carry bikes or big cargo etc as got a campervan if any hauling needs to be done.
Fucking love my berlingo, it’s done hardly any miles and gets over 50mpg but it’s gotta go..

  • Anecdata says larger supermarket forecourts are best. Morrisons in Peckham and the Asda on the OKR are both reliable sources according to neighbours and keepers of shops we frequent.

  • Honda Jazz
Cheap to buy, run and insure
    Chain driven engine
Will get over 50mpg if driven carefully
    Bonus: Can carry bikes

  • Cons: target for catalytic converter theft

Source: jazz owner who had catalytic converter nicked.

  • Has anyone here any experience or knowledge on EV swaps?

  • A friend of mine has bought himself a Model 3 Performance Pack. He brought it round to mine so I can put some carbon trims on he’s got.

Of course I had to road test it afterwards, pretty impressive really although I couldn’t own one until they make a station wagon

  • My guess is they're recovering after the epic sesh they had with all the money they made from campers over covid.

Probably in a dark, self loathing place right now as the fog clears and the most debauched moments come back to them.

  • That’s possible. They’re quite busy on social media at the moment.

Ah, so you made it to a Fucktones show?

  • heehee!

oh and just a public thanks to the total dude that is @markyboy who extended generous forum offer for his Cherokee as far as my brother. brother is really chuffed with it. many thanks dude

guess you won't be in this thread much for a while. enjoy carless life.

  • The C7 Corvette was such an amazing car wasn’t it? I really love the classic long bonnet coupe shape, does more for me than mid engined cars, especially the C8

Anyone know if the Morrisons in Peckham do Super Unleaded?

  • Trotters Independent Trading may have some stashed but i expect you'll have to pay dear for it...

  • Well, I'm open to that - the car will get to a point soon when it can only be used if there is a guarantee of fuel available during the journey.

  • Google Maps of the station price sign does not show Premium options. There is the Esso on E. Dulwich. Restricted pump numbers in operation so there is always a queue. No idea what they have.

We managed to get fuel this past weekend at Heston Services on the M4 - all cars restricted to £45 at the pump.

  • My car is showing a range of 55 miles, I'm not going to move it until this madness eases. Around Greenwich/Charlton it's still a total mess, BP and Esso are closed every time I walk past, the Sainos by Ikea seems to have fuel every day but its carnage there, traffic getting backed up in all directions. Local fruit & veg guy told me the best bet is Asda in the Charlton retail park first thing in the morning, he's managed to fill up a couple of times by getting there at 6am and queuing for 30-45 mins.

  • It’s a pleasure!

And, as illustrated by subsequent posts, I’ve never been happier to be carless

  • My mates truck got stuck in central LDN last night, kept finding nothing on way in, ended up borrowing an e scooter thing to find fuel, think he ended up on North Circular before he found fuel, filled a 5 gallon container then wobbled back to it. Mental. Suggested he would be better throwing in some veg from a corner shop and just winging it (old cummons 6BT), but he firmly remembers the state of my injection pump after running that stuff for a while :p

Last week coming back from Campbeltown > Glasgow I think I saw 9 fuel tankers heading down that peninsula. Bare in mind there are only 2 or 3 public filling stations on it, total overkill, but there are a few hauliers that have private tankage. At same time in Glasgow more than half stations had zero diesel, or weren't selling it. My old barge will run on neat veg if it has to, just doesn't love cold starts below 8c

  • Unleaded in South Norwood Shell a few minutes ago. Dunno about super but 95 shouldn't break your car unless it really doesnt like E10?

  • It won't break it, but it's not meant to run on it. Which means it'll just dial back the timing and use a lot more of it I suspect, and may limit boost also due to dynamic compression ratio being a bit pointy for the lower octane fuel. The E10 part won't be an issue.

    What was the queue like?
