He also reckons the WTB Raddler is the best tyre https://www.wtb.com/products/raddler

NOVA Eroica is an All Road cycling event in pure Eroica style. Open to all those who are looking for a unique and epic experience in the saddle of their modern racing, gravel or cyclo-cross bikes.
So it's just a sportive in Tuscany then?

Surprised to not see any grindu(b)ro 'rigs' posted in this thread

Flared handlebars, are they worth it? Just have regular drops at the mo, never really use the drops
-
• #20234
No
-
• #20235
Can you not smash it properly in flared drops?
-
• #20236
I really like the FSA pattern which is very slightly flared.
-
• #20237
Exactly. Wide is not aero
-
• #20239
Tiny flared bars seem to be the rage in road racing now
-
• #20240
That's all just angling the levers inward, don't think the bars have changed
-
• #20241
But anyhow, I didn't really mean no to flared bars in general. Just in the specific case of very rarely riding in the drops.
If you don't ride in the drops, whether or not the drops are flared will make little difference to you.But I'm using 40cm road bars so maybe I'm just missing out

I believe it’s a race and a sportive at the same time? There’s def a timed and a non time bit.
-
• #20243
I went from 38cm road bars to 42cm (at the tops) flared bars and I honestly haven't noticed much of a difference. Probably mostly down to rarely using the drops.
-
• #20244
imo if you're only riding in the hoods you'd be much better off moving to a nice set of riser bars for gravel :^)
-
• #20245
I might try some other bars but I don't really like the feel of wide drops. Mine are quite long reach so my position on the gravel bike is a bit ridiculous but it's fun and doesn't feel sketchy or anything

This, probably
-
• #20247
Isn't the whole point of gravel bikes to make riding offroad feel sketchy?
-
• #20248
is that post... taped in place ?
-
• #20249
It's a gateway drug for Roadie Bros
-
• #20250
There's some inner tube under the tape also. Which makes all the difference
good gravel ride last night around the badlands of Esher, Kingston, Hampton & Claygate followed by a beer or two and a moonlit ride home
