He said himself that he doesn't train much on his TT bike, which means he has one to train on, and you don't need to go to a wind tunnel to do aero testing.

What wheels would he have been running? That's a long drive for some pretty m@rgin@l g@inz

Nice set to listen to over dinner. :)

@Stonehedge, @Chalfie, @villa-ru
I've got no skin in this sue game, but as a functioning adult you've got to take responsibility for what you do. Opi-Mi woman, caused an accident, at the biggest cycle race in the world, caused injury to the cyclists she was supposedly there to watch, and will have to live with the consequences, and if that means some financial recompense is taken from her, then so be it.
Part of the joy of being at sporting events like the tour, is the closeness to the participants, but part of the unwritten contract you engage in is not to interfere with what's happening in front of you.
Yeah there may be unintended consequences from the ASO/UCI wanting to sue OPI woman, and spectators endangering/injuring cyclists in future, but I don't think that will stop them from trying.Anyway back to the racing..

Tubeless on the road.

What was his white TT helmet? Looked less than optimal.
Imagine what @xavierdisley or Dan Bigham/Wattshop could do with him.

• #758
Yes. But you've missed the point that if Didi the devil is ok, and the madness at some of the hairpins, etc and so on.
I don't think paying financially is the solution here. Or to a lot of "wheres the blame" stuff.

Van der Poel swapped his Abus Gamechanger TT helmet in favour of the same Lazer Volante helmet used by Jumbo-Visma and opted for special Aerocoach overshoes designed in conjunction with NoPinz.

No fine is going to equal the hell the woman is going to go through once her identity is revealed, thanks to social media and, to an extent, threads like this.

Not mad on Pete Ken myself. Love his smile/t-shirts/fade but his insights are a bit bland. Maybe he's intimidated by grumpy Chris and Gary's incredibleness.

No wonder his face looked like this...
"The team bought a pair of Princeton Carbonworks wheels, employing someone to drive 900km north from Andorra to hand-deliver them to the team. Then he ultimately chose to forgo using the Wake 6560 front wheel and his sponsor-correct Canyon Speedmax CFR was fitted with an Aerocoach Aeox Titan front wheel, which was paired with the Blur 633 from Princeton Carbonworks.
The standard Canyon cockpit was replaced with Aerocoach's Ascalon extensions instead."

^^ Nobody ever got it across how the Tour de France racer is really happy on the day of the first mountain stage because the carnage is over, Pete Kennaugh did yesterday.

I wonder if @xavierdisley wasn't on the phone at night doing some consultation for the team..

did Didi ever take down the peloton with his jumping?
Should be clear all those cunt's dressing up as syringes/gorillas/etc running up alongside riders whilst they climb are just as dangerous, acting like idiots.. -
• #767
But in the same article he says he's only TTd in the Tour de Suisse but he came 6th in ToB TT so maybe he just means on this bike.

I agree with Will. She made a mistake. The consequences of it weren't any worse than many of the other crashes that have already happened in this tour. She may be a vulnerable person. Best to let it go.

• #769
pretty sure he leaves the hot takes to boardman, think he's there to give a bit more insight into the modern peloton/cyclist..
what sort of insight are you looking for?

acting like idiots..
They're not acting like idiots.

If you stand in a closed road during a race you should be careful. She really wasn't.
If this ^ is upheld by the law whilst it applies to Didi etc ... it shouldn't discourage them from typical fan-like behaviour because on the whole fans are careful or off the road.
It's possible coverage of her case will help educate ... maybe reduce fans pushing riders, hitting them with phones and similar. If she's vulnerable I'm sure that'll come out in court and be considered, like the fact she came-forward to police and loves her grandparents.

Insightful insights. Like whether Thomas is crocked. I wonder if he's less likely to spill on ex-teammates. He's improved since last year but still seems a bit rabbit in headlights at times.

Wattshop said he was using their Aerobars

What about the spectators who were off the road but crashed in to during other incidents. Should they sue the riders or organisers or bodies?
Financial compensation might be appropriate but as stated before I think it’s an ugly first reaction.

Seems like it’s Pog’s to loose.
Obviously a long way to go but rather ominous for the others.
