I've seen a few stories about Bitcoin Scams recently
It's hard to feel sorry for some people.Imagine someone who has unfathomable wealth, and they decide to make a massive altruistic act.
What would they do? Make a serious impact on world hunger, or provide clean drinking water to millions, or end homelessness, or many other acts that would help the most impoverished on our planet.
But no, they are going to give back double the money that someone (who is in the top 3% earners on the planet) gives them.Really?

The BBC story on El Salvador and Bitcoin was embarrassing. They dug up some cryptocurrency marketeer as their only "expert", who was of course all "woo!" and "Bitcoin gonna go green!" etc. No critical thought involved.

Not really asking for it but at least he seems to have had the decency to admit that his actions were racist and sexist. Too often the apologies are along the lines of "im sorry for causing offence but i'm not a racist". Subtle difference but quite important.
If people don't feel able to fully admit what they did was wrong and came from a position of ignorance and bigotry then there's no hope that people will change imho.

Is that why the guardian is down?

I had an email from MacKenzie Scott last week. Written in German no less. Turns out she received a bunch of money from ol' Jeff and wants to give me $100,000,000. All she needs is for me to pay the $10,000 transfer fee in Bitcoin.

I used to work with Jimmy when he was 16. I remember very little about him though so the anecdote does tail off a little.

Yeah, agree.
Similarly, the "fuck off you racist" response from many people isn't going to help the situation much.
Snipped from the sun but apparently direct quotes... I think fair enough.
@Stonehedge pretty much what you asked for, no?
