I've got a USE Sumo seatpost on my All City and recently, after a couple of thousand kilometres, it's started tilting back for no apparent reason. Any tips for getting it to stay in place? Carbon assembly paste? I don't want to overtighten it or anything like that. It's got a single bolt clamp design as shown below.

Thanks.

Why is this pannier the right?
The side pocket is on the RHS. Wouldn't it be better to have it on the left/rear to keep it away from your feet and pedals?

Can you get to it without dismounting?
-
• #108431
I couldn't, but maybe someone with long arms could.
Makes sense though. Plus tourers have longer chainstays than the bike I'm using it with.
The clip can be rotated so I've put it on the NDS without issue. But was just curious.

Isn’t the black rubber bit on the pocket for mounting a light?

Knocking up a new shifter cable winding drum aiming for a specific cable pull, do I have to account for cable thickness when calculating the winding drum radius/arc length?

Thanks. I hope it doesn’t stay long.

It's both rad AND a compromise. What more do you want?

Is a 1" disc fork a 1-way ticket to a fiery death?
-

A properly designed and manufactured one can be fine. The way the caliper load transfers to the fork leg is independent of the steerer diameter, the total brake load going through the headset bearings is limited by doing an endo, and we could all do those with rim brakes long before oversized steerers became common.

I'm heading up to york soon and would like to do a ride - probably over the North York moors but not nessecarily. Has anyone got any good routes out of York, about 120-150 miles?

Where has play history on spotify gone? There's recently played, but this just has artists and playlists, which is useless.

I use a very old version of Spotify (and I am not upgrading), but for as long a I can remember it’s been on the ‘play queue’ screen - you can then view history via an option at the top.

Can’t find it anywhere. It’s been streamlined in the way that everything has been these last few years. Drives me fucking mad tbh. Stripping out functionality so that features are easier to use (but only work in a limited fashion).

Is there something like GSM Arena for TVs?

Is this an 8uF starter capacitor, and will any wired one be a suitable replacement?

MFD = micro farad = uF
beyond that I'm not sure

MFD = micro farad
Unless they mean millifarad mF or megafarad MF 🙂

Pretty much, if it's the same capacitance and voltage and rated for motor start duty. You can use one with terminals rather than fly leads if you like, although fly-lead ones are easy enough to find.
Try to find one from a manufacturer who knows how to use Greek letters 🙂 -

Yep, though it doesn't say mF and a megafarad cap would be a genuine scientific marvel

Not so much a marvel, but a bit of an inconvenience; current ultra capacitor tech seems to be in the 1 MF.m-3 region, although a couple of orders of magnitude greater density is considered theoretically practical.
There's a thread for that
