Moderators (requests and notices)

We don't really have moderators on LFGSS, what we have instead are volunteers who help administer the site either across the whole site (myself and hippy) or within sub forums (lots of people with specialist knowledge of those forums). You can see who these people are on this page: http://www.lfgss.com/forumleaders.html

This thread is a place in which you can put merge requests, or in which we can put notices of things that we've done. It's a start at trying to make it more transparant what we do without quite needing to be a burden to us (we're not going to spend time announcing every thread merge but exceptional stuff we'll try and remember to announce).

First up though is a notice to other mods.

Could mods please leave a 7 day expiring redirect when they merge threads. This is because new threads are tweeted over on twitter ( @lfgss ) and if you merge without leaving a redirect then people click through and end up on error pages. Merging with an expiring redirect will push click-throughs over to the thread into which you had merged the content. So please use the expiring redirects.

I was using no redirect coz that's what you told me to use. Will change to 7 day expiring.

If they can't get the first rule right then my bet is that they aren't even trying and need a boot to go rethink their approach.

I think it would be worth linking to this thread in the Forum rules, as a deterrent, and so that people who do break the rules know where to look to see why they were banned/deleted etc

Unfortunately whoever you are:
1) Your email address is fake and so my reply bounced.
2) I've no idea who you actually are so I don't know whether you're been intentionally banned or just caught up in someone else being banned.
3) I don't know your IP address because you haven't told me it.

So without that, my options would be to do nothing or to unban all IP addresses. As most IP address bans are for spammers I'll be doing the former and leaving the ban in place. How you'll know this as your IP address is banned, I have no idea.

I've banned like one spammer about 4 months ago so no idea who this cunt is.

If they would like to address their criticisms to fuckyouandyourfamily@youmassivecunt.com I'll be more than happy to consider their grievances.

Plus if it's an IP ban, I must've done it. So he's got grievance against the wrong person. Oh well.
