@hippy - not sure if anyone else gave feed back on 30c Corsa Control's but I can now.
Good not great. Noticeably slower rolling than an Open Pave, Corsa 2.0, Turbo Cotton and GP5000 IMO.
However, I feel more confident that they're not going to puncture than any of the above and cornering grip is fantastic. I believe they have the same cotton casing as a Corsa 2.0, just with a thicker and wider tread and that's what it feels like to be honest.
One gripe is that for them to be of a low enough PSI to feel nice and cushy and feel like you're actually benefiting from them being 30c tyres, they then feel very squishy when climbing out of the saddle. Don't love that feeling.
I reckon they'd make a really solid UK winter tyre. Though as it never ever rains in Los Angeles I might not keep using them - I just don't need this much grip, cush or puncture protection.
The comfiest/grippiest/fastest tyre I've ever used is still a Turbo Cotton and I just wish they weren't $175 for a pair.

I've still got a few Turbo Cottons. They get used now and then.
They were my race tyres before the Corsa Speed came out, tested faster. Thanks for the heads up on the Corsa Controls anyway. They sound like they could be my kind of road ultra tyre perhaps. I'd like to compare them with Pro 4 Endurance which is my go to nowadays.

I have conversely found that my GP 5000s wear much quicker than the 4000s and they've not got much left after 2000 miles.
I'm about 5k (km) on my set and they have loads of life left.

I guess this is really a case where YMMV
-

GP5000s tread is thinner than 4000s so all other things being equal will wear out sooner (if your sidewall hasn't exploded already).

Wasn't the Pavé phased out and replaced by the Control? Only to reappear on Wiggle?
Either way it's interesting to hear that they have not necessarily improved upon it. -

thats me!

How do you know a tyre is good from zwift ride?

The sidewall colour compliments the turbo trainer while it's leaned against the wall?

Long winded way to remind us your in LA!

Pro 4 endurance are gold, and I rarely rate any winter/endurance/puncture proof tire. They just roll fast and last ages.

Also, GP5000 are great but durable they're not. Sunday best tire but won't commute on that.
-
• #8242
They are still a race tyre. I wouldn't commute on them unless I was racing after work.
Durable, slow, cheap bastard tyres for commuting. When I used to do that. -

The Open Pavé is absolutely discontinued but WiggleCRC uncovered a load of old stock somewhere. They're just being cleared out.
While it was it's spiritual successor, I don't really think they're directly comparable tbh. The Open Pavé has almost the same tread thickness as an Open Corsa e.g. very thin. It's a race tyre with a nice grippy tread. The Control's is noticeably thicker than a both the Corsa 2.0 and the Open Pavé and it's also heavier.
With all of this said, the Control still has the structure and feeling of a race tyre versus something like a G One-Speed, any tyre with a wired bead, any 120 tpi tyre etc etc.

Got Corsa Control 28s (with Latex) on my race bike still. Raced a super tight and chunky surfaced crit on Sunday plus 50km each way and they were perfect at 65 Psi (I'm 75KG(sorry for mixing unit systems)). Sure, Turbo Cottons would have been faster and maybe even slightly grippier but they would have been half worn by the time I got back!
I'll keep them on for some Exmoor riding this weekend and then swap them out for 26 S-works rapidair tubeless until Palace starts up. Turbo Cotton 26 for Palace with Corsa 2.0 25 tubs if proper road races ever happen again for chopper 2nd cats... -

Anyone has any experience with Veloflex tyres? Puncture resistance/comfort/wear rate? Looking at the Corsa EVO which is their slightly beefier tyre compared to the Corsa Race and Record.
-

Puncture resistance
comfort
wear rate?- Good, until they puncture two or three times a ride
- With latex tubes, amazing
- The punctures will start before the tread disappears
This is for the Corsa/Master, not sure about the new range
- Good, until they puncture two or three times a ride

Same experience with Record tyres a few years back. Great tyres until they puncture multiple times on a single ride out of the blue

Has anyone got experience with Vittoria terreno 29" x 2.1"?
Early mtbs would use 2'' tyres on such rims.
I run 35 tubeless tyres on 22 external width rims .
No problems.
