  • Ha, I’m hoping to do 50km each way two or three times a week, I don’t want to get back on the train... do rapha classic hold up well being washed a lot? 🤷‍♂️

@miro_o cheers for the suggestion 👍🏻 Heading over to the decathlon thread

  • Back when I was an first year doctor, I did the each way to Harlow pretty much everyday in whatever the hell was clean for most of a year. Most kit is good enough.

  • Cool cool, cheers 👍🏻👍🏻

  • Trouble is, I have this setting but others I ride with don’t.

  • Mostly my winter kit was sportful if that helps.
My summer kit was either Rapha or Castelli or Milltag.

  • Try rubbing in some detergent into the marks on the fabric before putting into a 30 degree wash? Just rub it in real good with a finger or a clean cloth. To be honest, I avoid certain colours for exactly this reason.

  • @mattyc Decathlon are good. Their higher-end top shorts are the most comfortable I've found (Rapha included) but everyone has a different butt I guess.

Bellow is anther example of the style (few panels, basic pad). You can always take the pad out if you'd rather use shorts underneath.

Whilst they have better pads, I wouldn't say Rapha shorts are more durable. I don't own any of their tights.

  • Excellent - thank you for taking the time 👍🏻 I’ve never had any rapha shorts, mostly used Assos which are great but want to try other things - at £40 I’ll give the carratti bibs a go 👍🏻
@lowbrows cheers again! I think I’m also going to try the sportful no rain ones 👍🏻

  • As @hollow__legs said

Look on arxteryx at their wash settings and advice. You can use a sponge or so to rub cleaner on area. Just re apply dwr.

  • @mattyc I used to use the standard DHBs for commuting, but the quality has been sliding downhill steadily, so my favourite cheap shorts at the moment are PlanetX 365. Excellent pad but the material is quite stiff and they're cut high, so useless for roadside pee stops but look like they'll last really well. Excellent thigh grippers, you just can't feel them!

Comfort is excellent and the price is unbeatable. I'm a very standard size M.

  • rants like the above happening.

    Yeah, sorry.

If cs would just have said either “It left here on x day, must be Hermes taking their time, give it a couple days?” or “Sorry, COVID is slowing things down a bit, should be on their way to you soon” then it’d have probably kept me from having the rant.

It was the way they took their time to go and look at the tracking number that they had to ask me for, then came back and told me what that tracking was saying as if they were being helpful that boiled my piss.

  • Thanks, that page is great! Rapha should create something similar.

  • pearl izumi

  • Keep your eyes peeled then.

  • Fair, that does sound a bit useless. I can't speak for them, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get a lot of calls from people essentially asking them what they could have checked with tracking details on the web.

  • Any idea when the Core women’s jerseys will be available again?

  • Rapha out doing the PDF brigade by providing hell of the north info in Google slides

  • The manchester one offers me a brief rest-bite of tarmac after one (edit) section secteur.

  • Everyone needs a rest-bite.

  • Anyone here do the Rapha Manchester to London ride in the past? I'm interested in what exact route it takes. Guessing they take a good route.

  • I’ve done it twice. I think the route moves about a bit. Will post my Stravas

  • I think year 1 has the best route. Most hills.

    2014, 2016

  • Thanks SB. Is it mostly quiet roads?
    @PhilDAS, cheers I'm lazy :)

  • Yeah mostly. The last bit is well shit though. Through Tottenham/WoodGreen etc..
