I'll see what comes through on email and share the route on here if that helps.
That would be great, thanks. I suspect they don’t want too many people at Dynamic Rides, and/or only have a finite amount of finishing badges to hand out.
Not too bothered about those things, but would be interested to try the route.Failing that, I might just do the Tour of the Black Country route again. I suspect there may be some overlap.

Isn't one of the primary things fuelling depression in young people this sort of unattainable lifestyle being incessantly promoted across social media?
Kid A sits in his home in bumfuck nowhereville Nebraska looking at Justin and Corey riding $10k bikes, in-and-out of $150k Lambos and thinks how absolutely pathetic their 3rd hand aluminium Trek is, even though a week ago it was fun riding it.

They do give away tens of thousands every year to get under privileged and under represented youths into cycling though
-

I'm not saying they're bad guys and don't do some good but there are well documented issues with promoting the 'aspirational life' for kids.

100%.
On the other hand cycling is very traditional and uninviting. If riding behind a lambo and wearing chunky gold chains makes kids think it can be cool, they're doing what they set out to do.
Displaying unattainable lifestyles on social media is a problem throughout society, not just with Legion
Pros and cons I guess is what I'm trying to say -

i think the fact that a cycling team riding behind an expensive (rented) car is sparking discussion, or even novelty, probably goes someway to highlighting how right the legion guys are when they say cycling is a dull, stagnant sport which, culturally, is exclusionary of most things outside its well established norms and traditions.
there is a good interview with the Williams brothers where they discuss the attitude to them in the pits (is this what cyclists call it?), how they'd put on music, get pumped, treat it like they would any sport prep in other disciplines and be treated weirdly for it, cant seem to find it now.
seem like good guys, doing good things, who care for themselves and cycling,

I think it's false advertising for how much you can earn as a domestic pro

The irony is a Lambo is terrible for motor-pacing. I don’t know from experience, just armchair CDA.

Just dug out my Fixed Jacket from 2008(ish) to ride on the Brompton. It's great.

Unattainable to who?
I’m not clued up on their background but it doesn’t sound like this is where they started. I think also culturally they are quite American in this get rich sense.I do get your concern but maybe that’s for the next group to sort. Legion can’t solve every wrong.

@Robinho is correct, basically at capacity across the board. You say that it's not a group ride and you go in your own time. But it'll be over a thousand people setting off roughly the same morning doing the same route... Should be able to get an update soon, but I think it might be limited to existing sign ups now. Obviously once the route is shared there's not much policing that can be done to stop people sharing or joining the route.

Or going the weekend after once the route is all over strava

But this is part of the point they set out to make that there's no reason that domestic pro's in the US should be paid what they are/historically have been right? There's an interview with Justin where he says that the 1st year he signed a deal with Specialized to race solo (for which he neogiated based on what he thought he was actually worth) then he got offered more money than Corey and all of his team mates combined (Elevate KHS: pro conti team). He talks about previously racing on domestic pro teams where the salary was $12-14000 and the expectation was that that would be topped up with prize money. Surely if more people are able to replicate what they've done with Legion then it won't be false advertising?

Wasn't there some sort of IG spat about Legion and (lack of) financial transparency? I only occasionally dip in to this sort of stuff on social media, so do correct me if I'm wrong.
On the thread, I always rather dismissed Rapha as MAMIL wear, only to change my mind when the Mrs bought me a winter jacket about 18 months ago. I still cannot get over how light and breathable it is for something so warm.
I am increasingly of the view that top end clothing/shoes and mid-range actual bike parts is a better use of cash for me. If I'm honest, I really can't tell a performance difference between a carbon and alloy seatpost (for example) but really can tell the difference between a set of DHB bib shorts and some Le Col ones. I think for most of us with not unlimited funds, saddles, tyres and clothing are where to splash the cash, and groupsets and finishing kit is where to save it. But ymmv, N=1 and all that.

Well designed, comfortable sports clothes tend to be (and need to be) pricey.
Rapha isn't cheap, and find quite a bit of their items rather pointless, but I can't be with some of the Rapha clothes that I have. (pro team training jersey, merino base layers, insulated gilet, etc) -

And out again.

• #35894
why are people buying saggy bar bags with sternum straps ON the bars?! srsly aliexpress has better designs.

Pretty colours

• #35896
would this suggest that there is a chance the shorts might be restocked as well?
-
• #35897
I think it probably means they found a few that had fallen down the back of a shelf somewhere.
-
• #35898
Are Rapha usually slow as a week in the jail getting orders out?
I ordered Sunday, got the dispatch confirmation email Tuesday, Hermes tracking has been at “We’re expecting it” ever since.
-
• #35899
I've had mixed results over the last couple of months, more recently though they've been pretty good.

Rapha customer service were totally useless.
I did the online chat thing. Told them pretty much what I posted above and they took about 10 minutes to “look into it” and come back and tell me that the tracking was saying it was expected. No shit Sherlock Holmes.
I’ve to give it a couple days and get back to them if no change.
Not a great first impression.
I think generally kids aspire rather than see boundaries in the same way adults do.
Perhaps some of this is also not just for the kids but parents too. If you knew nothing about cycling and your kid shows you Legions Instagram maybe you might think it's worth taking your kid to the track an hour away or investing in their interest?
As an aside, which others have touched on it's not just about being good at cycling but the other elements that can make you "successful". I remember reading an article about one of the Lewisham Sunday League teams, they have a ridiculous income due to worldwide shirt sales. If selling shirts means you get paid for doing what you enjoy that seems like a pretty good outcome...
